Not sure if the issue you experienced is the same as I have for my LM6700 but I noticed that sometimes when I am watching TV, the TV would randomly black out for a few seconds and then it would resume the TV program. Its not like it turns off completely and then turns it on again.

I just want to know if someone else has seen this issue and whether it relates to some power supply issue that some people have brought up. If that is the case, then I need to contact LG to come by and fix this issue. Its not too annoying but I would like to get it fixed. So far I normally see this issue when I am watching CNBC but I am sure I have seen it on other channels. I am not sure if the cable line might be the issue where the feed for that particular channel is not as strong as others.

How are you satisfied with the other features of your TV, especially 2D pic, motion performance and similar. Do you experience clouding and light bleeding issues? Thnx

This just happened for the third time this week to me. I have had the set for two months so no chance of return. I will be in contact with LG and post the results. I have really enjoyed this TV but am very concerned after hearing your experience.

I have the 55LM8600 mine reboots at least once every hour or two, sometimes 3 times in an hour.

I wish I best to u all. I think I got lucky and talked amazon into just replacing it. Mine has been going on for about a month. What are u thinking about doing?
I just got my 3rd one from Amazon in the week, and guess what -

MORE FLASHLIGHTING - this time in the lower right corner.

I'm starting to realize I am just picky and will have to move away from an Edge Lit LED.

I am returning for for full refund and think I might go the plasma route or possibly full array LED

is anyone else doing passive 3d right now?

Flashing Issues?

I mentioned this in another post, but I can fix my flashing problems by rubbing the screen. The actual LCD screen is very flexible and if you lightly press along the edge you can clearly see it effect the flashing/flashlighting. Do it just right and it will get better, and possibly go away.

I discovered this because the first LM6700 I purchased had no flashing. It did, however, have the power supply issue so I returned it for another. The new one did have flashing. Thinking it was just a bad unit, I bought two others, but on both of them the flashing was the same or worse. I noticed, though, that every time I set the original set back up the flashing changed. I theorized that my pressing on the frame while taking it down and setting was the cause. This gave me the idea that I could intentionally change it.

i still have two of these in my house and might as well play with the one still mounted on the wall - any certain method I should go at it?

is your flashing totally gone?

Yeah I'm thinking that may be what I'm going to do. Two things really brought me to this set. I had a friend that had one and really liked it. I got a chance to view it and liked everything about it. Secondly I really liked the idea of cheap glasses. Last year we had a Samsung and we had spent so much money on the glasses that it didn't make any since.

I'm thinking that we may need to go back to the Samsung even though I really didn't want to.

Heh does anyone know if/how i can connect my 2.1 speakers to this tv without a receiver, it has a standard 3.5mm jack, i think?

EDIT: could i use a digital optical to 3.5mm adapter?

EDIT2: has anyone been able to unlock the options in the ezmenu yet? if any of you have lg technicians coming out for problems can you ask them?
Having this weird problem width my tv.

As I said two days ago. It would not turn on. Today it did. Then I changed the power socket and then it would not turn on.

Never had any problems with this tv. No clouding. No issues. Is there a fuse in the tv. If it works tomorrow is there something wrong with my powe sockets

So after rebooting 3 times in a week, last night it did it twice in 3 hours. It was too late to chat or call so I sent an email. Their response was the same as posted previously. Disconnect everything connected to the TV, unplug it and hold the power button for thirty seconds. Also to connect it to a different power source. We will see.

I never buy extended warranties but I might make an exception here.

I would find a way to get it replaced or set a refund if possible. My replacement will be here on tuesday and from there I may just get a refund. I just don't understand how so many of us are having similar issues.

I stated in earlier posts that I had the 6700 in 55" for a few days. It went back. The 3D is the only thing good about this set. Flashlighting. Bleeding. Waiting on software update for trumotion issues. LG is really dropping the ball this year. I've gone through the 6700 and 3 plasmas. All had issues. I just got a Samsung plasma and everything even down to unboxing is better. I'm not trying to bash on LG. I really wanted their sets to work because of the features for the price. There is a reason IMO that they are cheaper than the competition. I think they are having to cut too many corners to reach the price point that they want to be at to undercut the competition. The quality is suffering as a result.

Hey all. I'm having a weird one with the PVR side of things. Multiple late night scheduled recordings have occurred without sound. Excellent picture quality, but all audio is absent. If I record whilst I watch it, sound is recorded.

Have I missed a trick somewhere?

(Australian tv, connected to a yamaha RX-V3071)
now you need to call amazon again, because paulstv has it for $1050
post #769 of 2043
For those interested...don't know if it's been posted, but I picked up the 47LM6700 for $799 at Fry's today. FYI. Anyone have settings they can post...my search-fu is inadequate.

before

after

how i did it

just watched John Carter in 3D the other night, was fantastic (very underrated), loving it (the tv) so far!

Shouldn't have to "fix" a $1500 tv with paper. That's why mine got returned and I now have a plasma in its place.

Just picked my 47LM6700 yesterday. I have to agree with you. I almost didn't buy this set based on the review...and the 47LM6200 sitting next to it had better blacks. However, the 6200 was $200 more and Fry's wouldn't budge on the price. I figured I'd take it home, mess with the settings and bring it back if I didn't like it. Glad I bought it, I love the picture and the black levels are just fine to me. I don't know if it matters much, but I'm coming from a Sony Wega rear projection.

**EDIT**
I don't see a Skype anywhere in the TV. It's not an issue, as I don't have a Skype account, just want to see how it works. Can anyone point me in the direction on how to get Skype working (I do have an account online).

YOU CAN GET ALL THE MAGIC REMOTE BUTTONS ON A HARMONY! Nobody really explained this well enough for me before, so here it goes:

I bought the 47lm6700 and love it. New to Home Theater but I've set it up with a 10 year old dell running XBMCbuntu, an 8 year old JVC receiver and a FiOS set top box. I needed a remote to control everything, and settled on the harmony 700.*

As others have said here, the Magic Motion remote that comes with the lm6700 is RF/bluetooth (not IR), so it cannot be used to "teach" harmony remotes. However, the TV does respond to IR codes too, and Logitech has the correct codes in its database for most relevant functions, including HOME, MYAPPS, 3D, etc. At least for the harmony 700, Logitech has two ways to configure your remote: a desktop program that is downloaded from support on their website, and a newer webapp accessed at myharmony.com. I think they push the myharmony.com version on you by default, but the desktop program is much more customizable and can be downloaded elsewhere on their website; it's on the left here for the 700 at least:

logitech.com/en-us/447/7572

The downside of the desktop program is that it only allows 6 devices with the 700, not 8 like the myharmony setup. The two "methods" of setting up the devices don't seem to talk to one another at all, require separate registrations (although I was able to use the same login/password on both registrations), and strangely, appear to have completely different databases of IR codes! Note that using the desktop app after programming your harmony with the web app will overwrite everything you've programmed onto your remote via the web app. However, the web app may be able to overwrite it back, not sure.*

With the LM6700 TVs, the trick is, you CANNOT use the myharmony.com online interface to set up your remote, or else you won't get the Home and MyApps buttons. I tried using the LW5600 and the LM860v as somebody else here mentioned, but it still didnt work; using the HOME command from the 5600 actually opened the Menu on my 6700 instead of the home screen! In fact, I couldn't find any way to get to the premium stuff like Netflix at all (through setup at myharmony.com).*

Instead, you MUST use the desktop software, and the settings for the 47LM6700 work well and include everything you should generally need, including home, myApps, 3D, etc. My only gripe is that the Red and Green buttons that show up on the "choose input" screen (and others) and allow you to change certain settings (like renaming your inputs) are not accessible through the default harmony commands for the lm6700; you are expected to use the magic pointer to reach them and the Red/Green button labels on them seem to be a vestige from a previous TV's OS.

Therefore, I recommend using the settings for the 47LM860v in the DESKTOP PROGRAM, NOT ON MYHARMONY.COM; this contains all the Magic remote's buttons, including HOME, MYAPPS, 3D, etc but also has Red, Green, Blue, Yellow which can be mapped manually to the corresponding buttons on your harmony. The 47LM860v's harmony commands seem to work perfectly with my 47LM6700.*

Hopefully this saves somebody the day I wasted trying to figure this out!*Love this forum guys, thanks for the tips and tricks.

yes but there is some disadvantages to plasma like power consumption, IR ,break in period, brightness, i use mine as pc monitor and lots of gaming and not worried about IR

No, it isn't gone, but it is better. Like I said, every time I move it, the flashing changes. The last time I set this one up it was worst of all. I did a quick fix on the worst parts, but haven't done much since.

Most current plasmas use much less energy than older models, you may pay between 20-40 dollars more per year depending on your useage. Basically a non issue.

I have an LG 60PM6700 and have noticed no IR issues even when I've tried to make something retain on the screen for a bit. My old Samsung plasma would get IR in a few minutes of static images though.

Break in isnt even something that really needs to be done as long as you are just a bit careful and display full screen images and set the screen burn protection to orbiter you'll be fine.

Brightness is the only thing that I agree with being a real disadvantage. However with my closest friend having last years LG 55" LED, the picture overall is just better on mine than his. There are many aspect to getting a great picture besides the brightness.

Im not knocking LED, a good set still has a nice picture and I am jealous of the new bezel-less frames but there are just way to many display issues for someone that is an obsessive screen guy like myself to get one.

power consumption yes, but i've never had permanent IR, never did a break in period, and never had a brightness problem.

for the 6700, i guess i got lucky, because don't have any hardcore flashlighting problems, but the update for trumotion needs to come out soon.

the only reason why kept this tv, is because i got it for 799, and the 3d is better than the 3d on my plasma. 2d is good, but not as good as my plasma.
