I haven't noticed the reboot issue. I've had my TV for over a month and it's working great.

Has anyone noticed a particular difference with Trumotion on or off? I mostly watch HBO and TV News and everything looks great with the TV now calibrated.

Is there any way I check on the outside of the box for any code that might tell me whether the 6700 is a May or April build and not earlier? Don't wanna be stuck without the trumotion in the settings. Thanks!

Mine hasn't ever done it and I myself have sat up all night with it on and it never cut out. My TV runs all the time, it gets turned on in the morning and runs all day and when my little brother-in-law stays over he stays up all night playing ps3. I have had the TV for 2 months now, maybe it hasn't started yet and will at some point but for 2 months now it has been doing great.

So nobody has came up with a way to get into tool option to turn on thx or can u only do it with a special remote. I got a remote to get into tool option but most things are grayed out i thought I read a ways back that lg made it where u had to have a special service remote. Is that right?

Has any owner of this TV noticed problems with picture blur when watching 24p content on blu rays? Apparently LG in Europe have confirmed that there is a problem with the new in-house processor that they have introduced into the new models and as a result they have removed any reference to 24p play back from their UK website.

I'm not sure if this is true, as it was a comment posted on UK forums but a lot of UK customers have witnessed the problems noted.

which size and model did you get?

mine has never rebooted. i actually had a LOTR marathon about a month ago. watched the files through my htpc and it didnt reboot once. the tv was on for atleast 14 hours straight.

ARC should work over the HDMI cable plugged into HDMI 1. The requires an HDMI 1.4 cable. Some people report this only works if you turn on LG SimpLink. Other report it working, but only getting 2 channel PCM.

Can anyone report getting 5.1 or 7.1 sound out over HDMI? I don't have an ARC capable receiver, but hope to get one in the next year. Before then I'll be mounting the TV permanently, and need to know if I should run an extra optical cable, or just the HDMI.

it seems like everyone that has trumotion working has a 55 inch model, i havent heard from anyone with the 47 incher that has trumotion working. they should be the same exact tvs right?

I was in a local Best Buy last weekend and actually pulled a box out of a lower bin to take a look as I was also wanting to check for a manufacturing date. I was not able to find a date anyhwere on the box. The sales rep had told me that the sets are popular and the current batch had just come in a few days before. There is a good chance if the store you are checking has replenished their stock in the past few days, they should be new sets.

I didn't buy anthing this go around. Decided to wait a little bit.

Interesting. I wonder what is in the 03.21.03 firmware update. Are you sure this is correct? Can you post a video showing that firmware version? It seems to be a later firmware version than the proposed 03.20.93 update which includes Trumotion settings.

i basically bought the disney wow disk from amazon for $18 bucks, and used that. there are also settings a that people posted a few pages back, you can try those and see if you like em.

Firmware from Amazon
We ordered our 55" from Amazon on 3 Jun. It was delivered later that week, and reports:
Model/Type: 55LM6700-UA
Software Version: 03.02.83
So you might get new firmware, you might get old. I live north of Denver, and suspect it depends on where Amazon actually ships from. Or it could just be the luck of the draw out of the warehouse.

Logitech Harmony Remotes
We use Harmony remotes, and have a 650 in the living room. To program them I use the Logitech Harmony Remote Software, v. 7.7.0. For grins I decided to try telling it my TV was a 55LM6700. That kind of worked, but not as well as possible:

• No HOME button
• No red and green buttons (not on the Magic Remote either)
• Has useless "Input AV2" and "Input Component2"
• "BACK" is labeled as "EXIT", works as expected

So then as recommended earlier in this thread, I deleted that device and tried the TV as a 47LM860v. That worked much better. It still gave some buttons that are not useful (e.g. Input Av2), but covered all the buttons on the Magic Remote and more (no Magic or scroll wheel). The color buttons work, HOME works, and there are even some useful things not on the Magic Remote. I deleted the ones out of the configuration that I didn't see ever could be used, but for now left in things like the DVR buttons in case we figure out how to enable that functionality.

Thanks for the video. I wonder what is in the 03.21.03 firmware. It would seem that the 03.21.03 firmware should be newer than the 03.20.93 firmware which already contains the TruMotion options. Either way thanks for the video.

Thanks for the video. What you did in the video was perfect. I complained again to LG last night about the firmware update so I hope things are moving along.

I just bought a 47" model at Fry's this past weekend and I have the TruMotion option. I am running on the 03.20.93 firmware.

For those of you with experience on TruMotion - what is the best setting? Just disable it? Smooth? Clear? together with those options there are a de-judder bar as well.

can someone help me with the 3D config on this TV?

I have a GREAT 3D quality but don´t know wich are the best 3D settings.

3D deep and 3D viewing angle. Can someone explain this 2 options to me?
I´m sitting at 7.5/8 feet from TV.

Australian LG site has the update for lm6700 with truemotion enabled. The version is 03.10.07

Is it safe to use the AU firmware on a US tv?

I bought the 55LM6700 from Fry's today.

May manufacture date, firmware version 03.21.03.

The TruMotion menu option is present.

$1099 for the TV + an LG bluray player +6 extra pairs of glasses (12 total.)

I'm gonna bite the bullet and try to install AU on a US 47" model. Gonna start the download now so we'll see what happens. I'll post back in a little bit with the results when it's finished. I figure if it messes anything up I'll just download the current US firmware and use it. Fingers crossed

edit: must say though it's a bit weird because 03.10.03 seems like an older firmware that 03.20.xx, we'll see though

In Europe for example, the newest firmware version is 03.03.50, so it seem as even older firmware. Clearly LG has separate firmware policy per continent

You are the second person who has reported this 03.21.03 firmware preinstalled on the 55LM6700 TV. Maybe LG is holding out on release to test out the 03.21.03 firmware update and that version for final release? Seems kinda strange that there are 2 different firmwares released in the 03.20.93 and 03.21.03. Thanks for the info.

Can those who have a 55LM6700 with the 03.20.93 firmware, do a software check to see if there is a newer version. Apparently the May models seems to have a later firmware version in 03.21.03. If you are able to update the firmware to 03.21.03, then it seems like LG could be targeting a 03.21.XX firmware for final release maybe.

Just checked and there is no update to my 03.20.93. I'm hoping the newer firmware when released includes a fix for the rebooting. Seems likely to be a firmware problem since none of the parts replacements have helped.

Been watchng this thread...not impressed with LG customer service but I'm not sure the other makers are much better. Anyone considering jumping ship and picking up the new passive Panasonics?
