Edit: While there are several HDMI versions, cable manufacturers are not supposed to indicate any more about their cables than high speed vs. standard. Any high speed HDMI cable will do what you need as long as you don't need long runs. The HDMI ports have to be the correct version on both ends for newer features to work.
With any HDMI problem, the first thing to check is your connections. Make sure there is no stress on either connection, and examine the pins for damage. Every connection in the HDMI chain can cause problems. The fewer connections the better.
