Didn't really see any daytime specific settings. The Custom settings are very nice, although a little dim for my bright living room.

Try adjusting contrast to increase brightness.

I upgraded from an LNT4671f to an ST50 as well. You'll be pleased.

Are there daytime specific settings for the GT50?

Thanks Shocked, that's good to hear. The '71 never did anything but make me regret my purchase. A bunch of money spent on features I don't use (I never turn AMP on, for example) and a jittery picture anytime anything scrolls, especially when it's scrolling from left to right or vice versa. The only reason I didn't get the Panny back then was they were out of stock, and didn't know when more would come in, and I had NO TV at the time (unacceptable!).

I placed my order online about 30 minutes ago. I tried calling around all over the Dallas area, none in stock. So, with any luck, it should be here on Friday.

The 4671 is becoming the gaming TV for my daughter and her friends. We are changing one of the living rooms into a game room, and the other is now a dedicated movie room. The 60" should be a decent fit for a 10' watching distance. We were 12' from the 46".

They must have removed it.

The biggest problem I had with the 4671 was the clouding. It was really unbearable at times and over the 4-5 years I had it I really tended to try to avoid watching content with a lot of dark scenes.

I never actually noticed any judder. I'd read that was a fairly widespread problem after the fact, but I may have actually gotten pretty lucky.

Getting an ST50, though, really showed me what I was missing and all of a sudden the price tag seemed a lot easier to swallow.

Never had any clouding or flashlights on my 4671. Just tons of motion blur, unusable AMP, and that stupid judder regardless of whether AMP was on or off. Samsung made a couple of half *** efforts to fix the TV, but I always felt they knew the fixes would not work. I could not ever get them to replace it with a 70, so just gave up. If they think that customer service doesn't count, consider my last two TV purchases were both Panasonics.

All this talk from ST50 owners and no pretty TV pics to back it up? Shame on you.

Anyone know if amazon matches panasonics EPP?
No, Amazon doesn't match EPP.

Got my 50ST50 today; running slides on it now.

Mine buzzes a bit, but that doesn't really bother me. I don't appear to have any green/pink issues, but I do have a faint vertical band about 2-3" from the right side of the screen that's mostly only visible on a few of the gray slides. It appears that I have the same right-side vertical band issue that Fej/Shocked/others were mentioning.

Why does the ST50 (and other models) have a vertical band ~3 inches from the right?

There have been theories about it... something about a metal band that runs behind that section of the screen?

im just curious to know where did you buy your ST50? I have one from amazon. My ST50 doesnt buzz and I dont have any vertical bands issues when rrunning the slides.

For those that have the ST50's, can you post up some pics of the tv. I would like to see some real world pics of the bezel. Thanks

I got mine from Amazon (US) as well. 55" though. I think it's just the panel lottery?

I feel pretty lucky, personally - no pink/green blobs, can't hear any buzzing except if I'm very close to (and behind) the TV, and the vertical band largely disappeared after 2-3 days of slides. Don't even notice it on the slides anymore unless I look for it, and not at all on normal viewing content.

The biggest problem I've had with the display is one instance where the wifi stopped working (it refused to see any wireless networks at all even though there are at least a dozen visible ones in range) until I powered it on and off a few times.

Viewing wise, I'm still adjusting to what looks like a moderately dim picture at times but I think that's normal considering I spent 5 years with an LCD. Dithering hasn't bothered me at all, I can notice it if I want to but it doesn't hit me over the head with it like the GT30 I'd tried before this (though I think the particular one I got was a mess all around).

But overall I really have nothing to complain about. Only other thing I wish I could test is 3D, but not having a 3D-capable receiver or dual HDMI blu-ray player kind of puts a damper on that idea (I mean I could buy the glasses and hook devices up directly, but experimentation alone doesn't justify the price tag to me at the moment).
Shocked, as for 3D you could hook your PC up and play some 3D content via HDMI. You would still need the glasses though.

well never mind, you mentioned that idea already^^

I've been an Amazon Prime member for years. I called them and gave them three stores to match, and they would not match any of them. The closest they got to matching was Sears, but when they found it was not in stock they refused. So, I ended up buying from the first store I asked them to match for $370 less than Amazon would sell it to me for. I tried to buy from them!

Which stores did you give them to match?

Anyone have any latency numbers for non-Game mode (which is supposed to be 16ms)? I hate switching back and forth between modes so I'm curious if the other modes are worse, and, if so, how much worse.

Bought it from Amazon as well. If the vertical band that others have experienced has faded after a few days of slides, then I'm optimistic!

For reference, here is an image of the right-side band I'm referring to. Any artifacts of the image are products of the camera. It looks more pronounced to the eye, but admittedly I'm pretty hard on minor flaws.

I would not be ok with that.

it could be interesting to see if and how it's visible on normal content viewing...
