I haven't noticed a problem with DLP Link and my XpanD x102 glasses not working when I turn away.
1. Not an issue anyway in my mind, since you only need them to sync while you are looking at the screen anyway.
2. We watch movies without turning and chatting, or working on the computer, or knitting, etc.
3. The glasses sync such that one doesn't see the flash while they are on.
All that being said, DLP-Link, IR and RF all have their place. For instance, I've hear of IR interference with remotes causing problems, so RF may be better than IR in that circumstance.
