Low screen help

Will some of you with low screens tell me how high the image is from the floor. If I go with a 100'' screen the image will be about 21'' off the floor. Or would it be better to get a 96'' screen to get it a little higher off the floor.

Here's a shot of my modest screen wall. The ceiling height is 7 ft. The screen is 110". The top edge of the screen is 5" from the ceiling & the bottom edge of the screen is 26" from the floor.
I didn't go to a 120" screen because a future 2nd (rear) row of seating would need to be elevated and with 7' ceilings well, it starts to get cramped for head room.
I'm glad I went with a little smaller screen. It was only one size smaller and I don't think I notice the difference. My room is 17' x 26'. The seats are about 13 ' from the screen.

So how far away are you sitting? 1 row or more? How high is the ceiling? How big is the room?

About 11 feet, sectional couch, 8 ft ceilings but knees walls that start at 4 ft, 13x24

First you have to keep the location of your center channel in mind (unless you are using a perf screen). I find it comfortable having my eye level roughly one-third the way up the screen. That way I'm not uncomfortably looking up or down to any degree. I recommend using painter's tape and outline your screen... sure helps in seeing exactly how everything will work out.

Perfect. The 100" screen will fit nicely. (I have a 106" 16:9 screen with an 8' ceiling, and the top is 16" below the ceiling and the bottom edge is 30" off the floor, plenty of room for the center speaker.) Your screen takes up half the 8' of the wall height, so you have 4' to spread between the bottom and top.

I like my eyes between the bottom 1/3 and bottom 1/2. Not within the bottom 1/3, but in the area above the bottom 1/3 and below the top 1/2.

Almost all movie theaters here have staduim seating. My preferred seating area is more influenced by my eyes vertical height within the screen vs distance from the screen.

Turns out low screens are the kobayashi maru of HT.

I had a lot of problems getting my eyes where I wanted them, and I still ended up with a compromise. There were a lot of things I didn't think about like having the 2nd & 3rd row heights high enough to see over 1st row and see the bottom of the screen. It also forced the projector to be placed very low on the back wall - so low that I'm afraid I'll forget and get blinded when I stand up. I think there were also issues with the PJ itself and its own sight lines to the screen. A low screen looks disproportional in the room. You have to factor in the height too. I wanted 1.2x viewing distance, which made the screen 13' which made the height so large that the screen would have extended below my foundation to satisfy where I asked my eyes to be. It took me a long time to understand that the math behind my 2 requirements made them mutually exclusive. So I ended up with a compromise in both to get the best balance.
