Hi guys.

These r the two receivers I have narrowed it down too. What are your thoughts and preferences on these? I'm torn. The onkyo has more power and I heard the denon has better sound processing? Look forward to hearing from you guys. It would be use to run a Polk rti setup(tower mains,a6 center , and bookshelf a1surrounds.)

Best,
Bryan

the denon and onkyo have the same mulieqXT so the denon no does not have better sound processing . i would choose the 809 its also cheaper and has more power and featuers only pro for denon is it has airplay

I looked at both and went with the Onk.....just had a lot more bang for the buck. If you go that route though be sure to leave enough ventilation on top....they run a bit warmer than the Denon. Either one will be great....just depends on features you want. Onk can be found for GREAT prices right now....

I guess I'm leaning towards the onkyo. Does the denon have Pre outs for an external amp?

Yes. I went with the 3312.

haven't hook it up yet. I have the 2312 in my main living room and love it. I was in the same boat as you, after reading posts about bad Onkyo customer service and reliability issues with Onkyo, I decided to pay more for the 3312. The Denon 3312 has 3yrs warranty v.s Onkyo 2.

tvuong,
Where did you purchase your 3312?

I got my 3312 at Frys with employee price from a friend. Call Electronic Expo- they quoted me $799 shipped.

I was in the same boat as you and went with the onkyo, it just had more features and when i noticed the denon didn't have multi-channel input that was the deal breaker.

Anyways i couldn't be more happy with my purchase and everything is working great, such a power machine and you can tell when you try to pick it up out of the box.

I had a denon 2802 before this and it's night and day difference.

I wouldn't worry about all the bad reports of the onkyo i really think it's just the laws of averages.
