Help! Need to buy 3d Glasses

I have a Sammy PN59D8000 Plasma enroute to my house and need to purchase 3d glasses. There are several different models of samsung active glasses, some battery some rechargeable. I'm trying to find out if there are any performance differences between the different model glasses or just primarily style and fit preferences.

Out of 3 pairs I have used Sony which came w/VW90ES-3D projector, Xpand and Monster I like the Monsters the best.

Your welcome...I am thinking of picking up a 2nd transmitter @ that price. Just in case original goes bad.

I've been using Samsung's own SSG-3100GB 3D glasses and they have been working very well, but you have to watch the sellers, as a some have been selling used or refurbished glasses as "new". I saw some of them (new, in sealed box) on eBay the other day for great prices.

I just purchased a Monster transmitter about a 1 1/2 ago and a lot better than the Sony or Xpands. These also work with the Monster Transmitter. http://www.amazon.com/Optoma-Technol...p_ob_e_title_0

Not on there web site anymore. Don't know if they quit manufacturing or not. They get excellent reviews though on the forum at least in the pj forums. Don't know if Optoma took over there 3 D or what. Same glasses just under different name. Cannot remember the seller on Amazon who I purchased from. I will get on my notebook and off the iPad to check my shipping box. They were boxed up and everything was new though.

at first glance it seems the optoma may be who makes them now (possible for monster as well). the optomas look identical to the monsters.

so from what i can tell, RF is the way to go for 3d glasses. so that should help to narrow it down for starters.

Yeah Optoma the same as the Monsters in fact I ordered 2 pairs of the optomas at the time I ordered the Monsters.

so i go to optoma's website and they only show the 3d glasses for computer gaming, not the ones identical to the monster's....hmmmmm wonder what is up with 3d glasses

I just received my first 2 pairs of Monstervisions today. They are charging. I will hook them up later. After reading posts claiming the Monsters are going away, I also thought it was a good idea to order another pair with a starter kit for back-up. I got the first pair with the starter kit from Amazon. They arrived in good condition and fast. So I just re-ordered.
I wonder why a product that received such good initial press and reviews went so quickly. Hope I don't find out the hard way.
