Panny TC-P55GT30 or Panny TC-P55GT31?!

basically, i'm having some work done in my house, and i want to upgrade my current 6 year old 42" Panny plasma to something new and modern. i sit about 10-11 feet away, so i was looking for either a 50 or 55 inch.

i saw that the GT30 has gotten excellent reviews, and since it's the end of the model year i can get it for a really good price. i'm guessing the GT31 is the 2012 model, and i've seen really good reviews for it, and i can also get it for a pretty decent price.

i was personally thinking that the GT30 would be the better choice, since it's had a year to get it's faults fixed, where as the GT31 is new and those faults will take time to fix, if they get fixed at all.

i also noticed that the GT31 comes with 3-D glasses, while the GT30 doesn't. i'm personally not really into 3-D yet, and getting 3-D glasses or not getting 3-D glasses is not a deal breaker. i did notice that the new Panny TY-ER3D4MU glasses are not compatible with the GT30 or GT 31 though, and the other Panny glasses (TY-EW3D10KIT) cost about twice as much...

i honestly don't want/need 3-D, but since most 50" and larger sets are 3-D sets, i figured it's not a big deal as long as everything else is fine.

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

GT31 is a special bundle for Best Buy. It is Panasonic TC-P55GT30 TV + 2 pairs of 3D glasses + Avatar 3D Blu-Ray disk. GT30 and GT31 have the same TV.

The GT30/31 is a 2011 model. The GT50 will be the replacement for this year.
