2.1 compact receiver/amp for living room

So I'm moving my home theater set into the basement and the fiancee is forcing me to keep the living room presentable, lol. I'm in the market for a slim/compact receiver and am looking for suggestions. Bit of background on what I'm trying to set up:

Panasonic 60" Plasma

Inputs:
AppleTV, Xbox360

Speakers/Sub:
2x PSB Image B6
SVS-SB12-NSD

I need a decent receiver to go with this living room setup. Preferably something compact or at least decent looking, BUT the problem is I need HDMI or optical thanks to my appleTV and Xbox. Was looking at a few Marantz and NAD options but none have those.

I'd also be open to a good 2.1 stereo receiver. Key thing is I need HDMI or Optical inputs, and not really sure where I should be looking.

Trying to keep the price tag at $500 or lower.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The Marantz NR1402 might fit your needs, although it's a 5.1 (amplified) unit.

would the 50 watts be sufficient for the PS B-6's?

yes, that should be more than enough, especially since you will be unloading the lower couple octaves to the sub...

Shouldn't be an issue, the PSB recommended range is 20-150WPC and with a sensitivity of 89/90db should be able to get sufficiently loud for most.
