Best 5.1 Speaker Set with Denon 3312

Hello everyone. I have an 8 year old Polk Audio 5.1 speaker system that I pad about $500. I want to upgrade especially after buying my new receiver.

So what's good out there for $1,000? Should I go for a packaged system like the Mirage - MX 1300W 5.1 or the Energy Take Classic 5.1? or will I get better sound buying separate speakers?

I either want really small speakers or tower speakers (so no bookshelf).

Well towers would be a much better solution than satellite speakers.

How big is your room and what subwoofer do you have?

I'm guessing you want a regular horizontal center channel or can you use a tower for that too?

I am currently using the subwoofer that came in my Polk Audio package. I know towers would be better but can I get good sound under $1000 for all 5 speakers? Yes my center would be bookshelf. The room is about 15ft long 20ft wide

Jamo S606 with a Rythmik Fv12. Better than any surround package you will buy.

Ya but I want to be more specific to my needs and with my components. Speakers will sound differently based on the receiver. I want to know specifcally what the best option is for the Denon 3312

I would get the Pioneer floorstanding speakers, surrounds, and center that are on sale here:

Leaves you enough for a Ryhtmik FV12 sub:

Speakers are matched to your tastes, needs, room not to the AVR. If anything it goes the other way around.

You're not going to hear the difference via a forum...and the "different" sound between different avr's is extremely subjective...

When you're using low end speakers like a Take 5 (I'm not knocking them, I have a set), it's not critical in any case as to which AVR they're connected to. For real impact, you should spend more on the speakers for better sound...

Exactly why I'm asking here. Since I already have the denon 3312 what speakers generally sound better with it?

These particular Pioneer speakers were designed by a well known speaker designer, Andrew Jones. For the price point, it is a steal. Based on my recommendation, my neighbor picked up the 5.0 setup with an SVS sub and he has been ecstatic. He was skeptical too
