2012 Samsung Pricing and Release Dates

Not all get the PRO Real Black, only the 6500, 7000 and 8000. The 550 gets the real black filter.

So,with the 10% better black levels that Samsung is saying the 2012 select models will have,they are calling it "pro black"?IMO,just another gimmick to make the 2012models sound better than the 2011 with in all actuality I highly doubt the 10% difference will be noticable,but then again,what the heck do I know!

So the picture quality should be the same with 6500, 7000 and 8000. E8000 has voice and motion control compared to E7000. But what is the difference between E6500 and E7000? sounds like E6500 could be best bang for buck.

E7000 is missing smart interaction and clear image panel compared yo E8000. E6500 is missing dualcore chip and ultra slim design compared to E7000. In pics however the E6500 looks just as slim.

So the only potentially beneficial edge in E8000 is the clear image panel. Could somebody explain what is it? Doeis it make difference in real life or is it just marketing bs?

Are they going to fix the "Real Buzz Noise" in 2012?

I would have kept the PN64D7000 if it lacked the "Real Buzz Noise" feature and also the "Clear Brightness Pop" feature.

It will be tough for Samsung to compete with those prices. Can't believe an E8000 msrp is higher than VT50.

If you are just talking about list price, I believe the 65" VT50 is $3999 and the PN64E8000 is $3949.

But what's important is the street prices and it looks like Samsung's UPP is $3299 and Panasonic's VT50 will sell for around $3699. If you do a Google search for PN60E8000 a nice site comes up with pricing and features.

I originally wanted a VT50 but I hate that metal bezel on the edge. I had a UN55D8000 and found the metal bezel to be pretty distracting when watching TV.

Anyone know what the weights are of the PNE8000 plasmas? I'm interested in getting the biggest one I can, under 117 lbs w/o stand (limitation of my mount).

I'm not sure about the LCD's but the clear trim around the edge of the Plasma line is pretty reflective as well. It didn't bother me when I had my 64D7000 though.

No worries. The 64D8000 is only 84.4lbs so you should be good as long as they didn't add 33lbs of weight in 2012!

THX airgon74 for the info. Also, to be totally honest, u havent paid for the sammy yet, i dont have to pay till they get them in. I am just so darn confused now ! I like the voice control and new things sammy has to offer, but i laso like the voice control of set top boxes etc.. but thats only with the leds and i really like plasma. Then you have the panny's and their expected great pq, ahhhhh. Does anyone think that the panny's (vt50)will be that much better than the sammy (e/es8000). I am getting a samsung pn60e8000 as a replacement for my samsung pn59d8000 ( from samsung ) they said they will ship it March 18th.
I just wish there was a true/real well done calivration of the e8000 and the es8000 and the es7500 ( the only difference i see is between those 2 is ultimate dimming v dimming pro ). well, thx guys for all the info and I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.

Just got off the phone with robert from ve - wow, he really was sble to help me alot. Has anyone seen a calibration of the es models yet ? I know the
un55es8000 has been out for a little bit now but I can't find anything other than a few user reviews. I would really like to see some calibration reports on the UNXXES8000, UNXXES7500 and the PNXXE8000 series. I read a partial calibration report put black levels at 0.006 on the un60es with the local dimming off. I think it also said the plasma (e8000) was 0.001 on partial black screen and 0.000 on full black screen - is that even possible ?

Wow, robert at ve has the samsung pn64e8000 @$3299- incredible !!! That's $400 less than the vt50 - hmmm that makes the decision much easier !! Slightly better blacks arent worth $400 imho
