Which Projector?

Hey friends, I moved in a new house and it has an unfinished basement. I am looking for a projector. I have never had one and have never seen one outside of a movie theater. My room will be 28' long by 17.5' wide. The room is big. I am not sure where we will put the couches but a 110" screen will leave room on the sides for my floor standing speakers and a MFW15 sub in each corner. The room has two windows on the right side. I need advice on projectors and screens. I am hoping to spend under 2k for both. I think we will watch mainly movies and gaming. We dont watch much TV. 3d isn't important now but I imagine in the future it may be so that would be nice but not a necesaty (NEEDED) Thanks for the advise guys. I also dont know much about placement or lens shift etc. I am trying to play catch up.

If you can get in on the b-stock JVC RS40, that would be amazing. Excellent projector. You can find others that are less but not as good, like the benq w6000, Epson 8700 or 8500, or the Panasonic ae4000. Also, are you looking for a fixed frame screen, electric, or something cheaper like a pull down screen?

I am looking for a fixed frame that will be on the front wall. Would the JVC be comparable to the epson 3010?

LMAO..the RS40 will blow the 3010 out of the water in over all image quality. It's not even a fair comparison. The RS40 is in a MUCH higher class.
If you're into watching the same 3D movies over and over, then the 3010 would be a good move.

also wondering what screen to get? I am looking at jamestown screen and people seem to be happy with them. My room does have 2 windows in it if that matters.

Maybe the Jamestown has gotten better. The one I installed with a friend wasn't that great. On the other hand, the visual apex was easy to assemble and sturdier by comparison. We assembled the screen in less than 30 mins. We spent 3 hours trying to assemble the jamestown..very flimsy. Hopefully his design is better now. http://www.visualapex.com/Projector-...or-Screens.asp

You can look in the classifies for used screens. But if you can't find one, the lowest budget fix frame screen is a visual apex screen. I had one before and its ok. A Carada screen will be a step up, and you can find used ones for fairly cheap. I got a 72in Carada screen for $25 and I seen 100+ inches for less than $300
