Yeah. I'm going to be doing some reading up. I already looked one of your links with the blind testing. Seems like many subs are similar in quality at the same output and that the listeners don't have a consistent or reliable opinion on the different subs. This is surprising. Also surprising is that the listeners could tell the difference between ported and sealed. This really surprised me as I would probably lose money betting that I could tell the difference as I've always preferred 'sealed' subs. I'm going to have to re-think this bias now.

Wow. I love blind tests (especially strict ones which are meant to find the limitation of human ability to distinguish difference). I seriously wonder if listeners were evaluated to eliminate all possible bias and find whether these subs would be considered comparable by simply showing that no listener could reliably give consistent ratings on identically repeated material in random playbacks.

I applaud everyone who conducts blind tests (or any testing for that matter) because it helps to find where the build and design differences are really reaching our tastes and preferences and eliminating the myths and falsehoods we've all created over the years.
