Hi all. I'm putting two Micca M-8C's in my ceiling, put don't know the best placement option for the type of ceiling I have. Picture attached. I have a 1' deep recession in the ceiling. The surrounding ceiling is flat, with a wall 2' behind. I taped the two speaker templates up there to give you an idea of what this looks like. The opposite side is the same, but without the wall. Should the speakers go in the recession, or below? I'm wondering if there really is a difference. I'm concerned about sound reflections off the wall and/or within the recession. Thanks in advance! Also, I think I'm leaning toward inside the recession, since it puts the speakers more directly above the listening area. The listening area (couch) is more on the right side of the room, so if put outside the recession, then the left speaker would be about 7' away, if put inside, then about 5' away.
other info:
if put outside, the speakers will be about 15' apart, if inside, then 11' apart
recession is 12' x 12' square
upper ceiling is 12' high
lower ceiling is 10' high
Picture is of the right surround speaker
