2point gray scale

man, calibration is hard.
frustrating.
I noticed when adjusting cuts and drives that primary and secondary points move outside the "box" of the gammut chart.
especially red. I had to compromise to get the points to all hit inside the boxes. all points are at the same innermost part of the boxes.

I thought gray scale did not affect color?

VT25

grayscale does affect gamut

gamut shouldn't affect grayscale, but sometimes it still does

thanks.
I see reports by experts who
dial in the VT25.
So the tv is capable, I just haven't learned enough yet.
dang Rgb cut/drv have a mind of their own.

Two things may be going on here.

One is plasmas themselves are somewhat tricky because they have power limiting circuitry that dims the screen if you have too much white on the screen at once. They talk about it in terms of average power level. Another bit with plasmas is image retention, when you put up a pattern to make adjustments if it's up for any real length of time (90 seconds or more) the screen will hold a ghost of that pattern on screen for some time.

Then when it comes to cuts and drvs you have to remember they are effectively RGB brightness and contrast, and they will likely effect your brightness setting and contrast setting. Also the cuts will effect the drvs the drvs will effect cuts. But you should see on each pass the amount of adjustment getting smaller.

thanks sotti for the help.
I was using HCFR and had tunnel vision on the gray scale and how the gamma was moving. had some good deltas.
never really paid attention to the gamut.
I was experimenting and trying to get a handle on luminance.
I switched to Calman and because of the different screen I became aware of the gamut.

I try to switch to TV station between runs and I am set at
31 foot luminance.
I use the windows to try and avoid the APL.
I am curious why Calman uses 100% gray for the first slide of the GS run. I question whether it causes the IR you mentioned.

Also I would like the 0-10% readings. Seems AllCut can slide gamma.

I do applaud Calman for the screen and color run on gray scale to open my eyes to the effect on gamut.
