Battery Backup Question

I'm a noob building a HT but have done drywall and outlet moving.

I have a storage area under my stairs complete with electrical outlet, components, and an APC J10BLK battery backup. In another room, I am going to mount my plasma. In all, There is about 30ft between power source to TV.

I would like to be able to power the outlet connected to the TV to the battery backup. To accomplish this, I would have to run power thru a crawl space in the ceiling and down a wall. I wanted to have a finished wall plate with recessed power, HDMI, and Ethernet.

I know that running extension cable in the wall is a no-no.

What do you think would be the best way to accomplish this?

Since I am a new poster, I can't load a URL. He is the link to the APC http://www.apc.com/products/apcav/products/index.cfm?action=detail&base_sku=J10BLK

Run a power jumper system, like the Arlington tv box or similar products from Vanco, aMidlite, etc. You have to run Romex in wall as per code.

No. You have to use approved cable. NM cable (Romex) is just one option in most jurisdictions. And in some jurisdications, Romex isn't even an option.

So, why do you want your TV on a UPS?

We get a lot of brown outs. Also, anytime you turn on a vacuum, it blows the fuse downstairs. It's just a nuisance. I already have the equipment and just replaced the battery.

Sounds like you need to refurb some of the electrical system to reduce nuisance tripping of fuses.
