I'm building a basic in wall home theater. I am wondering what size I need my speakers to be given the odd layout of the room: 9 foot ceilings. The wall where the components will be is standard drywall. The long wall is the shared cinder block wall with the neighbor. The rear wall is hurricane glass sliding glass door.
So, I few questions.
1. Regarding the passive sub, I cant have a powered one so I wanted to put a 10" passive for the lows. Is this necessary? Would 8 be good given the size and layout of the room
2. The L and R. Are the 6.5 size good here? Should I use 5.25
3. For the ceiling speakers, Are the 6.5 size good here? Should I use 5.25
4. Is 7.1 a real dumb idea?
