LED Tv Help

Hello everyone, so I am in the middle of purchasing a good amplified surround system, however the TV is something I am interested in. I have been keeping my eye on the samsung un65d8000 tv and now they just came out with the smart tv un55esd8000 which is really cool. I am hoping they come out with something really nice like un65esd8000 but in general, what is the best tv with the latest stuff but I am trying to stay 3.5K and below. Is it worth buying the D8000 series? Mostly playstation 3 stuff, lot's of motion and movies to watch and I haven't been a fan of 3d glasses but I am willing to try it. Most likely the tv will be sourced from a Onkyo 809 or Pioneer SC-53

Depending on your room(plasma) if you have that much you could get a really nice Sharp I saw in another thread they were around 2.5k ...... or maybe an LM9600 not sure the pricing is out yet.

Or a big panny st50... Most the high end TVs 2k+ are going to have 3D any ways so if you want active or passive it is up to you.

Samsung caps and other problems they have had with the LCD flickering, makes me a bit hesitant to grab one right now.
