Samsung UN55D8000 or LG 55LM7600 ?

I need a tv and not sure what to buy? I wanted either the 7000 or 8000 series from Samsung but reading about all the issues, flash lighting, clouding, uniformity problems, I think I am starting to shy away from them. Now reading about this new LG LM7600 or the lower LM6700, they seem pretty nice but not enough reviews yet..

Can I hear your opinions guys? Thanks

I'm in the same boat myself. No stores within an hours driving time from me carry the 7 or 8000 series Samsungs and will take a week to order. My local BB has the 1 LG in stock that it looks like I'll be grabbing after work. I was leaning towards the 8000 but patience isn't my strong suit and just having to replace the main board on a 46" 6300 series LED has left me slightly bitter towards Samsung.

With all the issues of the Samsung 7 and 8 series , I pulled the trigger on the LG55LM7600 a few days ago and will be picking it up tonight. I have a tv stand to put together and get my old set and everything disconnected still so probably won't have everything up and running till Friday night or Saturday morning

I've heard all of the inconsistencies with the Samsung D series LEDS. IMO, I own a 55D8000 and I love it. Maybe I got lucky, but no blooming, flashlighting, clouding etc. I'm sure the LG is great as well, just giving you my opinion.

Got my 7600 series LG on Wednesday and it's going back today for a 7500 series Samsung. After playing with everything for a couple days I just CAN NOT get a picture I'm truly happy with that's got that Samsung-esque crispness to it. It's a beautiful tv aesthetically and the menus are fantastic but it's just not there. Oh well.

Not sure what you did or what you played with but both me and a friend (who went with the Samy D7000 last year) agree that the picture on the LG is equal or better. Can't comment on the new Samy-E series other than the much higher price.

I've read many posts from many people over the years who just start tweaking settings that they "think" they understand and kill the image, take it back, and complain its a poor model.

The demo set we saw at BB was impressive. Who knows if they optimized it.

I'm in a predicament here as well...

A few weeks ago I ordered the UN55D8000 for $1699 from TigerDirect (free shipping & no tax), but it's been a huge ordeal as they keep placing it on backorder and haven't been helpful, so I canceled it yesterday and ordered the 55LM7600 for $1614 from Sears (free shipping + tax). However, TigerDirect just got back to me and said they received the Sammy today and it's being delivered tomorrow, so if I want a refund I should just refuse the delivery. That said, it looks like I have some time to decide which one I want, as the LG is set to be delivered on the 4/30. At this point I'm at a bit of a crossroad as I can't decide which to go for. The LG is a new model whereas the Sammy is one year old and has had some flashlight/clouding issues here and there. Any input?

Did Sears validate this order? I just tried to get BB to price match and when they called Sears - Sears told them that was an error on the website and the price was actually over $2k

I also purchased this from Sears yesterday and got an email confirmation...$1614 + tax w/ free delivery and $10.00 fee for hauling away old set.

I'm looking at the 6700 for $950 and the $7600 for $1050. Is the 7600 worth the extra $200? Is there any difference in the screen other than the 120 Hz vs 240 Hz? Is the screen as glossy on the 7600 as the 6700?
