Home Theater Newbie - Need Some Help...

Hi Guys,

First post - here it goes...

I am in the process of setting up my first home theater that includes the following components:

Projector: Panansonic 7000u
Screen: Screen Innovations - Black Diamond Edge 100"
Speakers: Energy Take Classic 5.1
Receiver: Denon 2312
Gaming: PS3
Streaming: Apple TV 2012
HD PVR

My question is, what wires/cables do I need to purchase? I'm assuming:

HDMI x 3 (Projector, PS3, PVR) - Do I need a special HDMI for the 3D capabilities of the projector?
Speaker Cables (Energy) - Do I need a special cable for the subwoofer?
Apple TV - no idea what I need.

Would you recommend monoprice.com for the cables?

Thanks,

Blue Devil 89

You'll need to put in several hours of research. There isn't a simple answer.

For a 30-50 foot HDMI run, research Blue Jeans.

If running any cables in-wall, use in-wall rated cables.

Research power bridge, if you want all your equipment on a single surge protector. Or, use a surge protected outlet for the projector.

Read all the instruction manuals several times.

You may find the home theater and media room subforums helpful.
