Notnyt awesome theater room filled with top of the line components! Ha no surprise that many fellow motor heads with overkill cars carry that over to their home theater systems.

It is not about overkill, it is about how smooth and effortless it sounds at real IMAX levels because they are just loafing along! You need a system like this to really appreciate the dynamics and clarity of a cinema with no compression and low distortion. Notnyt's room is also pretty big, people just don't understand how big of a sound those JBL's put out where others do not. I have heard Paradigm S8's in a HT setting and while they sound great at a certain level once turned up they sound like crap, and the JBL's say bye bye with just as good sound(maybe a little less high frequency energy). Once more, you don't have to crank it but you can if you want to.

Congratulations on getting some recognition for a system which is truly worthy of the drool which it produces.

Funny I don't think half those people define HT the same way I do.....

After all that nobody still understands! I was half asleep when I posted that about NOTs car when I had truly looked at your car! Kinda funny that he too has a 10 second car as well and was able to just comment without thinking twice about where I had seen pictures. Thats awesome. The link was right under his theater and the thread was about him so my tiredness just threw two and two together about the link when actually I hadnt ever seen it because I dont remember ever talking to you in threads.

And to NOT that must be one bada$$ rx7! Any info on whats under the hood? I'm about to build a new bmw v8 twin turbo after I find the right one to buy. The new 4.4liter tt that comes stock on the 550i is perfect for upgrading once in the right hands. The power levels are very restricted stock from the factory.

And yeah the "have you ever had it to 8?" That was about were I thought to myself I need to just browse this place really quickly.

I like good ole American muscle cars.. rice burners have a place and time but not with me.

I once ran a 69 ss camaro with a 70 LS6,other than the stock 454 and a CC solid lifter 645 lift and 340 duration cam the car ran 9.70s at 131 mph all day.

I was kind of looking out for the inevitable ' goes up to 11' comeback to drop at some point.

They're fun, but I think I'm going to build another muscle car next.

9s fd when it had an engine in it. Big ports (bridge), big turbo, lots of fuel, haltech e6k, etc. Not sure what's going back in next. probably cobra irs with a blown LS? under the hood, choices choices. And yes, I know. Hideous wheels, but they were free, and 10" Wide until I could get better.



And this is my 10s fc with the wifes fb(sold) in the background. Not as wild as the FD. stock 13bre motor going back in there with a pt67 dual ball bearing aka t04z. wolf3d ems. Quite the sleeper this car.



ok, that's enough of cars. I just finished replacing the snub mount on our a4 and the heat control valve on my jeep. Thank god for daylight savings time. Now I just need to build a ramp up to the shed I build this winter and finish working on my garage. Then it's go time again for the cars.

Rotary motors are not joke. Any tranny problems? I see them things blown up non stop.

More often rear, axles, and power plant frame as long as you go into 3rd easy.

A lot of the stuff is cheap but they've got some gems if you look around enough.
The soldering iron I picked up from there is still kicking after a couple years. Worked great on the 4Pi's

I have the 4622's and recently went with a Crown DSi 1000 for each speaker. http://www.crownaudio.com/dsi-series.html

These have built in cross overs for JBL cinema speakers. Man what a difference it has made being actively, bi-amped. There was a dealer on ebay with a ton of theses B and C stock.
I paid $400 each (normally $900).

Any before/after measurements? Were you EQing these at all before?

Unfortunately, no measurements. I was not using any EQ with the passive set up. My room is really dead.
Also, I upgraded my CD's to the 2450-SL. I noticed with these CD's I had to trim each channel back by3-4dB's.
My next mod will be t=he truex Be phragms. They cost more than the speakers did .
