Its set to auto by default, but for cable TV,not blu ray, try high, low and medium and see what you think is acceptable. This also may have to do with your cable box or cable company because I don't hear of this issue with these TVs. Your the first I've heard since I've been on this thread. Also, try lowering your contrast to 75-80 and HDMI black level try setting it to low if its on normal.

Over tightened screws causes excess flashlighting. Loosening them often reduces the effect.

The end credits to Harry Potter Deathly Hallows 2 3D is another that tends to give LED panels fits. That's a loaded question you are asking as typically Samsung and uniformity are generally not synonymous as quality control is somewhat lacking. All kidding aside, the recent update does appear to have improved black levels according to a few of the posters... but don't expect Samsungs to be flashlight free. With any edge lit set, a combination of viewing conditions and source material can cause this issue. We're you watching in complete darkness? Was the source material dark to begin with? Hockey generally is not an LED tvs friend to begin with due to various uniformity, banding, DSE issues that typically show up to varying degrees on any brand, make or model.

My favorite thing about my set up is that all my equipment is in the room behind the wall the TV is on. Everyone always asks me where all my stuff is. I love the clean look!

Except for the banding on my 65" which does look better now, but I still see it on certain material and I would NOT recommend buying the 65" unless, you want to go through what Cmay went through, with return after return and still have a chance of not being 100% satisfied. This is why I'm waiting for the F8000 now since I need either another 65" or even this supposedly 75" that they say every year will be coming out as a 8000 model, but never seems to happen.

We all have to remember here that FW updates can do some amazing stuff. Just look at the Sony playstation. They were able to add 3D, a totally new technology at the time to their aging old Playstation with just a FW update. That's pretty impressive seeing that no one had to go out and buy a whole new console just to have 3D

Anyone interested in the new 2013 series can check this out. Supposedly in the UK, they have changed the bezel to the bezel the new plasma was getting, and they are now calling it the F8500 in the UK. I'm going to try and get in touch with my contact at their Corporate to see if this is just a UK thing or not. I'm kinda hoping its not, because I'm digging this style from the pics. Very sleek and different looking.
