As figured, it was a point update, nothing really seems to have changed.
It's no secret that I do not obsess with over-tweaking...That said, I was toggling back and forth and through all picture modes on Monday night...alot. Yes, I see in natural that black presents darker and crushes detail while other things pop but do look unatural...yet pleasing....the weird thing is...that after all of this toggling through.....The next day when I watched in my usual standard mode...blacks seem darker. Again last night and this morning, on all sources ...the blacks do seem darker and inkier without loosing shadow detail. Without listing the grid...In standard mode I have ECO off, contrast at 78 and backlight at 12.
Is it possible that cycling through the picture modes would enhance the abilities of the tv? Sounds crazy but my eyes arent joking. And I am one who has stated that I think the whole "inky black" black level issue and grading system is overrated.... but darn it...black is blacker now. I'll take it even if i dont understand it.
My only real issue is i'd like to reduce the flashlight in lower left corner, upper left is slightly weaker. I jsut dont wanna remove the back panel. Not huge issue. ...Nitra, i think you shot me info about this?
Panel uniformity after 60 plus days is perfect. No issue. No clouding.
Love this set. UN60es8000... a beast!
I'm going to do the same with mine next time I take it off the wall, it's pretty easy to pull the back off and make the adjustments, just use care when screwing it back together, and make sure you're grounded to stop static discharge before you touch anything inside.
