I would be interested to do that to mine.
well i got a un55es6820 that i returned bad clouding and pixel. new one few days non but now got some light clouding just from the right side. will be monitoring it. biges thing is if its me or not is that it seems to be like at times out of focus? shutter in screen. now i am watching netflex over wifi. no feed thru hdmi. do have free to air and it seems perfect on some channels. so im kinda on the border of it. i have not updated it. its on 09version and it new version is 012. should i update?

This mount is basically the same as the $200 Samsung version.
I would not hesitate to use this mount, Works awesome.

I installed mine this weekend. It looks great on the wall. The instructions had several grammatical errors. I just hope the manufacturers put my effort into the build of their wall mounts. It is very scary to see my huge television mounted on the wall. I constantly check with a level to make sure my tv isn't moving.

Great!!! Now they make this available. 2 days after I install the old "Hockey Pucks" on my wall. How dare they not make this available the day the 2012 models came out.

I suggest reading the Display Calibration section in the forums for more information. There's lots of data, tutorials and links. You will need a hardware device, either a colorimeter or a spectrometer. Generally speaking, a spectrometer is a more accurate and capable device than a colorimeter, although a colorimeter will measure blacks better. A spectrometer is considerably more expensive than a colorimeter. For your purposes, both will do a perfectly acceptable job. One of these devices will cost you from $100 on the low end to a $1000 on the high end. Well known brands are Xrite and Datacolor to name two.

You will also need software. There are a few commonly used packages: the open source HCFR, of which a fork has recently been made and commercial packages from SpectralCal and Chromapure, to name three. The latter two will also bundle a a colorimeter with the software. I would definitely recommend acquiring the hardware and software. If you're willing to invest time learning, then HCFR will be fine. If you prefer to be guided more by the software, one of the commercial packages may be better suited. The default profiles on most TVs are so far off an accurate representation that it's a joke. Given that you've spent thousands on a top of the range TV, a couple of hundred extra to make sure that it's properly calibrated seems like a wise investment. I'm sure you'll be happy with the end result.

I don't watch enough 3D tv to know how long they last.
They are NOT rechargeable.
They take a 3v lithium battery

so there a word going around the there a new Tv better then the es8000 comeing out soon and im not talking about the OLED tv something else
post #972 of 15312
WMN250M according to Samsung website is not Versa 800 compliant....so I assume it will not work with 60ES8000.

The key word is "Coming Out Soon" --- IMO this is very unlikely unless it's a 2012 Elite 70/80/90" versions. My bet is that an Elite will easily beat an ES with the lights turned out as it blew away the D8000 last year at the flat panel shootout and I can attest that my 60" D8000 is a fraud with the lights out and i see no way of Edge Lit Tech ever matching or exceeding a local dimmed panel like an Elite.

There is an LG Hi Res 84" set on the horizon supposedly for fall but LG has done head fakes on debuts for 3 yrs running that look great at Trade Shows but rarely if ever have made it to N. America for Consumer purchase.

There are discussions of new R&D advances for the near future beyond 2012 but unlikely to appear anytime soon without CES as it's launch pad but even then typically anything is 6 months or later to follow 2013 CES.

Maliclipse... I am also very interested in the 65"es800 or even the 7500. I have not heard any speculation as to the date, however I think July may be time frame.

65" is/was supposed to be in june/july...the un75es800 from all my phone calls to the big New York chains, say October on there correspondence from Samsung...Probably gonna be more like October in my dreams as I have been waiting forever for the 65 or 75...I just said F-it and bought an 80" Sharrp 844u...Pic quality is awesome, and I figure i'm gonna want to swap the tv in a few years anyways, once 4k resolution, and the next format that trumps bluray comes out...So I buy now and be happy with 80" of full array goodness....My .o2$

Posting with correct English gets a better response. The best way to downgrade is to reset the tv. Other than that I don't know how to.

According to the Samsung website the 60ES8000 is VESA 400x400 compatible therefore it should work with the new WMN250M.

Is it just me or is the browser not worth using? It seems really slow and many of the web pages I go to that have video like msn.com don't work. Maybe we should get together a "Punch List" and submit it to Samsung. This is a huge community and if they were wise they would take our pulse on many things concerning fixes for the software of their current and future products.

Also, does any use the "Family Story" or the "Kids" app in the Smarthub? Wouldn't it be great if we could uninstall some of the Samsung apps that came with the TV.? Are you listening Samsung?

I wish they would lose the apps completely and concentrate on better tv's.

Xbox already has it covered and does a much better job.

I agree. Seems like they are too busy adding "fluff". Who needs that family app? It only works if other members in your family have a Samsung device with that dumb app, and isn't that what Facebook is for anyway? They should have put that energy into getting the browser to work right and making sure critical apps like HBO GO and VEVO are ready from Day 1. They should have also made sure that accessories that are designed for the TV were ready at launch like the mounting brackets and the keyboard. They could have also passed the instruction manual to a proofreader. There is an inexcusable amount of grammatical errors in the manuals supplied. I expect this kind of shoddy work from a 3rd rate TV manufacturer, but not from a multi billion dollar conglomerate like Samsung. Step your game up Samsung. You have taken over Sony's role in the consumer entertainment market. Don't go through all the trouble of making a beautiful device and then drop the ball in the last inning. Write a manual and provide apps that compliment your beautiful device.

Is there a way to adjust or turn off the setting that makes some movies/tv shows look like soap operas (shot on video) It's a bit distracting, and would prefer to scale it back or turn it off completely. I know some friends TVs can turn it off.

I've looked thru my ES8000 settings and can't find the place that might let me adjust it.

Thanks in advance
