I don't have UVerse, but if your display is set to "screen fit" and UVerse has a "native" output setting (like Direct TV), I'd use that. For instance, ESPN, ABC, and Fox all natively broadcast in 720p, while NBC, CBS, and the Food Network broadcast in 1080i. A setting like native will automatically switch the Samsung to the correct matching display more for the signal. You'll see it briefly displayed in the upper left-hand corner of the screen when you change to a new channel. If you force your box into always displaying in either 720p or 1080i, you end up artificially downscaling some signals and upscaling others. There is nothing wrong with this, but you may not get the full quality benefit of the original broadcast source.
