My Denon 788 has started to power off and go into standby mode,it will reset in a few minutes but its started to happen alot lately.Anyone have info on this problem?

The most common reason is a speaker wire from one post touching another post causing a short so pull out the AVR and visually check the rear panel speaker wire connections, otherwise it may be amp failure.

My buddy's Pioneer vsx-1014 wont reset anymore either, he's had it for 6 years or more. you're gonna get defective equipment eventually no matter what brand you buy.

Did you try unplugging all the speaker wires completely? How long will the receiver stay on that way?

I reset and reconnected speaker wires and it will last about 20 minutes.
