Hello today i updated my epson from firmware 1.04 to 1.06 myself.

There is some improvement for me in 3d.

It seems to be smoother for me.

I first had version 1.02 and updated it to 1.04 but for me the 3d wasnt that smooth(maybe it was a bad flash or something i dont know).

But for me going from 1.04 to 1.06 helped.

Maybe more people that came from 1.4 and updated to 1.06 can confirm this.

Best regards...

You still need to have the 104 firmware package for the installation files and directions - the 106 is only the actual firmware file itself. The 104 link has been listed here previously in this thread.
I'm not sure if I have a limit on the amount of download from my site, so I don't know how long the link will work - I may have to remove the file eventually - so get it while you can!

Thank you Frey, for the link.
When I click on the link it sais TW8000.
Does this file work on my TW9000?
My 104 file has the name:
HT1-L2-FWWWV104-r31285_AS.DLT
This 106 file has the name:
TW8000_FWWWV106_AS.DLT

John 2910, was this the file you used?

The file is for all four models, 8000/9000 and 5010/6010, just as the 104 update was.

Houston, I have a problem.
But I think the guy's here know better. wink.gif

When I did the update to 104 a few months ago, I used Virtual PC and used XP Mode.
Now my laptop doesn't recognizes the projector anymore.
So I did the whole update instructions, but I keep hanging here.

When I put in my USB, my Windows 7 wants to install it everytime.
My XP mode won't show that it wants to install the projector at all, not even when I set the XP Mode in full screen.

I've done a system recovery to start over again, a lot of times now.
Any suggestions here?

Thanks a lot.

Unbelievable, Yesterday it took me the whole evening, trying.
Now I deleted the whole stuff from my XP-Mode and Installed it all clean.
Now it worked, and it was a short job.

I now going to replace the projector, and check how it is.
Again I deleted everything from my XP Mode, so the next time I'll be forced to do a clean install.
Thanks a lot though.

Thanks guys !
I updated from 1.01 to 1.06 my TW9000W "swedish buy".

So far so good.
(it takes more time to find an old/dirty windows xp than upgrade the beast)

105 was a inprovement of 104, but it had a bug so they made 106 to fix that.
I had 104 after my first update from 100 and now I have 106.
Everything works fine with mine.
I was already very happy with 104, but hey,... ;D
post #343 of 430
I update my TW9000W (european model) to 106 version and works ok. Not found any different in 2d video with my previous version 104. Not tested yet to 3d...

The Picture is from the 104 Installation Instructions.

I BELIEVE 104 needs to be installed before 106.

I BELIEVE 106 only has a Power ON FIX and NOT
all the 104 Updates.

I Cloud be wrong.

You NEED all the SOFTWARE that came with 104 to Install 106.

If you are NOT HAVING a Power-On Problem - do not install 106.

so the 106 is only bug fix the power on issue only?

i figure it out. i forgot to turn off the power switch and follow the instruction completely. im stupid.

okie firmware update from v104 to v106 completed. Call me crazy but for some reason all my calibration setting are still there after the update, and i check and the last 3 digits is 106. Anyway the 3D bluray panning scenes are noticeable smoother for some reason. thanks everyone for your help. smile.gif

Ok I'm happy that everyting is doing it okay! charlievoviii.

But on my side i got still one question for all! That is this i had the 101 Firmware and had a problem with the start problem and have updated the firmware to 106 but do i now have all the things in the 104 update to??.
And so not can i than go back to 104 and again to 106??.

I needed 106 for the start problem but i thing that problem is not gone yet!?.
It's very strange because if i turn the meanswitch first on off (before i put the projector ON)for a couple of seconds and than back ON, and if i switch the projector ON on the remote(On) than the lamp is going on.
If i switch the projector Off with the Standby button(remote) he's going off.Butt if i switch than the projector on 'and do not first switch off the meanswitch?' and put it ON on the remote, the lamp is not going on but if i i puch on the standby the lamp is going on?.
You hear on both ways the fan blowing.
So far I know, Firmware 106 is a fix on 105.
You can download 104 to get the installation files you need.
106 isn't on the Epson website but you can get the link here on this topic.

It replaces the older firmware so you don't need to install 104 first.
If you download the 106 file with the link, you only have that one file, so you do need the 104 download for the rest.

. Im pretty sure the v106 include everything the previous firmware have plus more. Either way to need to download the v104 cause it include the software is needed to load the firmware onto the projector. So if you are paranoid, i say just load both firmware. Load V104, than restart the projector and check the version, after load the v106. GL

As for your projector issues, im sorry but i can't quite understand what you wrote.

Thanks for your answer Charlievoviii ,About my startup problem with the tw9000 i do not now how to write it in the right way:D because my English is not so good??!! i'm from holland .
Yes i would think also that everything in the 104 firmware is also in the 106??.
I don't now if you can go back from 106 to 104 and than go again to 106??.
William.

William.

let me get this correct. You already update it to v106 ? and u still have power on issue ?
Yes i think so! i'm not to sure but i must test it for a longer time?.
Or i do something wrong when i turn the projector ON!smile.gif .

When i turn the projector on it takes a lot of time till the lamp is going to burn (till there is light coming out)

William.
