yes, i read most of the threads other tv models here on this site and most of the people help each other and share each other, but on this thread seems all the owners dont help or share each other.

My 2 cents...

My pani P50g25 died on me the other day. I read the reviews for the 55LM7600 on Amazon and Best Buy then went to Best buy to check it out.

I was caught up between the new pani P50GT50 and the 7600. I went with the LG because of the WOW factor and the 3d.

So here's my review so far... The LG is a nice TV but isn't perfect.

Out of the box, the TV was ok. I went online, found a bunch of calibration settings and tried at least 4 of them so far. Adjusting the settings makes a big difference from out of the box.

The TV picture is good but can't compare to my 2yr old Pani. It seems that with every show I watch, I have to make an adjustment to some setting. As you can imagine, this gets annoying. The display is either too warm or too cold and even while watching the same show I found that some scenes were too warm and other scenes were too cool. I can't seem to find a happy medium here.

As far as the bleeding is concerned. There's a slight bleed coming from the top and bottom but it's not terrible.

My son plays both XBox and Playstation. He's been playing this batman game and it looks pretty good as far as I can see.

On a positive note, the sound is better on this TV than the Pani but sound can be fixed with a soundbar. The remote IMHO is pretty good. The apps on the TV are fair. They run a bit slow. Using Youtube through the browser is much quicker than using the actual Youtube app provided by the TV. Also, I was able to plug in my HP Bluetooth keyboard to the TV and search the web with ease. The only issue is going to flash pages. Seems the latest version of flash is not installed and I haven't put much time into figuring out how to update it.

I purchased the TV at Bestbuy. It was on sale for 1799.00. The sales guy went to the web and found the lowest price 1389.00 which was pretty good.

I'm considering a return and picking up the Pani P50GT50. I thought the colors were much better on the Pani and I didn't have to change the settings with every single show I watched. I think for now I can live without the greatest 3d functionality. I know plasma's in general have their own issues but I was very happy with mine until recently. frown.gif

All comments welcomed. I hope this helps with your purchase.

Got my 47 out of the box and doing initial setup. Slight disappointment that it was built in April. It's doing the FW update now, currently has 03.20.31 on it. I like that it does 5Ghz wifi too.

What's the best setup to look for flashlighting?
I don't see the use of comparing an lcd tv directly to a plasma. Plasma has it's own issues and is why people buy LCD. And of course the other way around. Programming does look different like syndicated VS new network or even VS live. My experience has been once calibrated correctly you will see all of the same type shows look reasonably the same. My old Plasma was exactly the same in this regard. I also found using functions such as Dynamic Contrast can make one show look good but another not so much. in addition our CW channel for whatever reason always has faces with more red than other channels. But I see no difference in how either type somehow keep channels looking the same better than the other.

Yes, if anyone could please take the time to upload the newest firmware, it would be greatly appreciated.
I do not know how to do that. It downloads itself from the TV. I don't download anything it's automatic. (Contrary to some apparantly think) in @addition I don't think you can just download the latest version I think you have do previous ones first. Also you can't go back to a precious version if do download that from the LG site. Instructions there say tv will ignore a same or previous version.

Well, no need to return it if there isn't an issue. I have Silver Premiere too, so I have 60 days.

In what little amounts of time I've had black screens, it's looked ok to me as far as any bleed, though I'm still at default settings since I haven't moved the TV to its final place. Just doing an initial setup in another room to make sure the basic functions are ok before moving out the old TV.

I've been using the media link app so far to stream from the Plex running on my Mac mini off the wifi, it's worked fine so far. Not thrilled with the phaser remote. As a second remote, it's ok. So I'll need to get my Harmony One settings switched over.

I'm not a fan of break-out cables, but in this case it's a good design to have them for the analog inputs, since those don't get used as much and this saves space.
Well, only issue I have at the moment is with getting the ARC to work. I enabled it on the tv and I switched to the ARC input on my LG HTIB, but not getting audio. Tried turning off one and both devices, didn't help. A/V works fine going the other direction. And I got a new Amazon HDMI cable that can do Ethernet, since that's what the manuals specified.

I'm getting this tv in the 47 inch version (47LM7600) for $970. Very excited, it will be my 2nd HDTV I've owned. Coming from a 32" Toshiba LCD i got about 4 years ago. I'm sure I'll be very impressed with it, im definately not as anal about every little pq detail, and my eyes arent even trained to spot them like everyone else seems to be.

I intend to get a soundbar with it ... Thinking about the Polk surroundbar 3000
I also plan on grabbing the bp620 LG 3d bluray player with it as well.

It will be my living room tv, i plan on possibly hooking my Xbox up to it as well, but that may end up in another room.

Look forward to finding a good set of settings from elses recommendations.

anyone want to change my mind on the bluray player? Is there a better choice?
same goes for the sound bar, i would like to stay under $300 on a soundbar. This one seems like it's got good reviews from what I've read.

American. Not sure if they are known nationwide or not. I believe they are mostly in the midwest. They price matched amazon for me. My mom works there so I shop there when I need furniture/
appliances/ some electronics.

For those loading beta firmware onto their tv, what is the advantage of that?? I am kinda confused as to why someone would want to install beta software, possibly permanently screwing up their $1500-$2000 tv?
I noticed in the service menu (Tool Option1) of my 55LM7600 that the LCD panel is listed as 8-bit (LVDS = 8-bit).

Is this normal for this model?

I have a 42LV5500 from last year that shows up as a 10-bit LCD panel (LVDS = 10-bit).

Hey Folks,

Out of the box it seemed my picture was overstaurated and probably overly bright and to view from anything less than about 15 feet things generally seemed blurry and in constant state of adjustment when a figure on the screen was moving. But I went and tried a handful of the various calibration settings and then the Wizard and things are much improved and I'm now confident that I can dial this TV in to my liking.

The two issues that I still have is that I still feel that the picture detail could be sharper. I know I've walked by tv's in the store and seen the detail clearer in images. But the most bothersome issue (and it may have increased since altering my settings) is that when watching a figure - human or animal - that is moving it seems to have a border that looks distorted around it - like the effect when driving of heat coming off of the pavement distorting the horizon - do you know what I mean? I think it seems the most obvious when the figure is lighter in color than the background that is richly colored such as dark field green. In fact, it seems the most obvious when watching football players running against the field. It can be very distracting and I like watching football! I 'm pretty sure I read about someone else having this issue in one of the LG LED threads but i can't find it now. I have tried adjusting true motion for this but it has not had much effect. Any Ideas?

If I can get this resolved I'll be thrilled with this set! I had a fair amount of light bleed out if the box, but the adjustments I've made have reduced it to the point that it is of no consequence to me. Perhaps because I've come from a 1987 vintage CRT and this is my first flat screen TV, I'm generally blown away and haven't gotten to anything more than TV usage yet - as far as I'm concerned the rest will be frosting. I'll also add that I'm happy with the sound from this set. I think it helps to have it backed right against a wall, but for those who might wonder about the sound , when mounted this way I don't think most people would feel the need for additional audio equipment for general tv use.

BTW, I'm updated to software version 04.02.85.

Thanks!

I just bought a 47LM6700. I've got it connected to my PS3 and when watching Blu-Ray discs it looks like people have heat-waves coming off of them as they move. The best way I can think to describe it is the blurring of the picture is similar to that of a hot asphalt street with heat waves coming off. Is there something wrong with my TV, or is this just LED motion blur?
Previous to this TV I had a 2005 Panasonic Plasma 1080i and a 2007-ish LG LCD 1080p and I have not noticed anything like this before. Comparing TV's at the store is almost impossible as many times as they have the signal split. I may have to return the TV because this is just unacceptable. I don't think I can ever get used to it.

i think what you are describing is a side effect of trumotion. try turning that off, or use the "user setting" to find somehting acceptable.

Anyone know of any optical out issues with the LM7600? I currently have PS3 hooked to 47LM7600 via HDMI, and then the optical out hooked into my Denon receiver. On the Terminator 2 bluray the DTS-HD and THX intro sequences before the film have no sound, but for the movie itself the sound works fine. If I enable the speaker on the TV I do hear sound for those intro sequences.

I posted a question in the Denon thread with more detail: http://www.avsforum.com/t/1153086/official-denon-avr-1610-590-owners-thread/5070#post_22399430

The glossy panel is really starting to bug me. My room is not bright but I do wave windows and I can see a lot of reflections.
I am now considering the LG 60PM9700 and have two weeks left to decide if the 7600 goes back to Best Buy. I never considered the plasma because they were always the shiny ones and LED was always matt/anit-glare. Now it seems the 9700 may address this issue and turn the tables.
Both sets are basically the same price ($2K) but the 9700 is bigger by 5"
Help me decide guys. Should I just stick with the 7600 or will I be haunted by the 9700? What can the plasma do better?
I want to stay in the LG family because they are dual voltage and there is a chance of moving back to GE and I want to be able to use the TV there (Blue Ray via netflix and Sky Digital so no PAL NTSC issues)[/I]

so no PAL NTSC issues //////////// I heard you can change NTSC to PAL from service menu withsome universal remote....for analog.
