If you go to the Apps screen and select YouTube how long does it take until you have the YouTube home screen menu?
I'm still stuck on v. 04.02.85. YouTube isn't working all that great. Videos (Lo-def or HD) will play, freeze, load, play, freeze, load, etc. But if I open the VUDU app and run the speed test I get connection speeds greater than 9 Mb/s. (I have Comcast broadband.) I can watch movie trailers on VUDU in 1080p with no glitches. Sometimes the free 3D content supplied by LG 3D World will play, freeze, play, etc. Meanwhile my kids' PS3, which is literally less than a foot away from the LG TV has no problem connecting to the internet and no problem with online game play. Laptops placed within a foot of the TV connect with no problems. My Droid phone with WiFi analyzer app shows a decent signal.
I called LG and they ran me through most of the tests I had already done, and could not solve the problem. I told them that I know there is a newer software version available because I've read about it on the internet and the customer service rep knew nothing about a new version. Finally, they attempted to blame my router, a six month old Asus RT-N56U. Again I explain about the other devices that get good signal when placed adjacent to the LG TV.
How should I resolve this problem? I'm open to suggestions. However, reading about people with ethernet connections between their modem and their TV and yet they have trouble with the YouTube app makes me think it's the software update that would fix it.
