Well I just got my 55LM7600 today.
Updated the software immediately to ver. 04.20.18 using USB thumb-drive. Got the software update from the support page of the TV on lg.com.
Then adjusted the image following the settings in this post on cnet (they came up via a Google search I did)
It's got a lot features but I immediately regretted not scavenging for a deal on the 8600 instead.
Launching the apps takes a couple of seconds and operating some functions is sluggish. Also streaming videos from my Galaxy S3 requires intermittent buffering/ downloading form the phone. Everything I had read mentioned the dual-core making a big difference but decided to ignore it thinking it wasn't a bid deal.
Now the worst part is the light-bleeding. it's really bad when the TV turns on, then it gets better but I can still see it during normal content playback.
Got it from Amazon. They have sold out. CES is round the corner, I doubt very much they'll restock this late in the life cycle of this model.
I am debating with myself whether I should live with it or get rid of it, spend more and get the 8600 with no guaranties the light bleeding won't be an issue again.
It's such a hassle to take delivery, mounting it, arranging everything, the settings. Took me over half a day fooling around with this.
And there are ads in the Home page!!! Anyone knows how to turn that crap off, please let me know.
See pictures. Please offer guidance.Edited by merlo - 11/27/12 at 8:04pm
