hey guys,

I just bought my first LED TV and I am new with this. I have the LG 47LM7600. I plug my PS3 and watched blu ray movie but I always see on top of the screen if you highlight the pointer I see "1080i 60hz"? Is there an option to put on 240hz? Thank you

You're actually asking the wrong question. You can forget 240 or 120HZ, that's jargon that may or may not be present on the TV screen itself and is up for debate. What you are looking at is the playback of the actual movie. You're question should be why don't I see 1080P 24HZ, or perhaps 1080P 60HZ.

First question, are you using an HDMI cable? Second, can you set the PS3 to output at 1080P? Third question, once it's set to 1080P can you choose 24HZ instead of 60HZ?
1080P 24 is the really what you want for playing back a Blu ray movie. Not all players will output that, and 1080P 60HZ is fine.

That info bar is telling you what the incoming signal is, not what the tv is converting that signal to. This is true on all sets.

Weird. I'm there now and don't have an Amazon app. Is there an update I have to do? I can see YouTube , Hulu, MLB, Facebook, etc. I also see a 'coming soon'?

Any thoughts and or help would be appreciated!

I am at version 04.30.01

That "coming soon" which was on the second page is gone now, all boxes have something with Amazon on the first page. I have already signed in with my Prime account and it works great.

I would guess everyone will get that update.

Excellent; thanks! I'm only on version 04.20.18 with no update available yet. I hope it shows up soon. Not having an Amazon Prime app was a concession I made to have this excellent TV. I am over the moon that this is being added literally within a week of my purchase!!!!!

I was on 04.30.01 and no Amazon. Checked for update, 04.31.01 was available and I updated. Still no Amazon. I do have coming soon on 2nd page

I'm still on a current version of 04.20.18. I've tried to update and keep being told "none". This is so utterly unprofessional for LG to treat customers this way...waiting forever for new aps and then not making them readily available to "all" customers in a timely fashion.

Im on 4.31.01 and i dont have amazon app.

This is exactly how my premium apps look now;

Scroll down and pick "go to premium contents"
Then pick "Available premium contents"

I agree that your set has enough problems to warrant returning it, but I'm curious if you still found it too dim with local dimming on High and energy saver off -?

I'm in the same boat. Wish they'd hurry up. I've been using Prime with my laptop hooked up to the tv but the search interface on Amazon's site is just god awful. I am really enjoying the free year of Netflix, however.

Is anyone else using the LG TV Remote iPhone or iPad app instead of or in addition to the Magic Remote? I'm finding it much easier to control the tv with it; my hand always winds up in an awkward and uncomfortable position with the Magic Remote and I like the shortcuts in the app, too.

I am using the LG tv remote app on my iPad and REALLY like it. It works unbelievably well for me. My biggest complaint about the magic remote is that you can only really set it down with the buttons down. Inevitably, my kids bump it causing the arrow to pop up or the dialog box prompting that a feature is only available on another input/change now. With the iPad app working so well, the magic remote went into a drawer!

I spent $25 on the standard remote. I bought it from Sears. It is so much better. I understand the reason for the magic remote.....but I hate it.

Software version 04.31.01 downloaded today. There is now a 3D picture test in the Support menu. It does show off the potential of passive 3D - items show good depth and do come out of the screen some.
I also believe in the last update the on screen volume circle added a red color stripe that increases as you increase volume.

How long does it take before the dev versions get released to the general public? I'm still on 4.20 and I'd like the cool 3D upgrade.

I recently purchased the 55 inch LM7600 and I'm satisfied with most everything about it except for one issue that has been bothering me since I brought it home, which like for many on here has been the flashlighting from the corners. I think after playing with it I found a fix but would like your input.
First, I must say that this is the first flat panel and really big tv that i've owned, I did a lot of research and the TV got a lot of positive reviews with a few negative ones, most of which mentioned this problem. I thought, it's such a small percentage, it couldn't be that big an issue. Also it was cheaper on Amazon (at the time) than the Samsung 55ES7100 I was also looking at. I picked it up from Best Buy as they are matching Amazon's pricing in order to stem the tide of all the business they are losing to Amazon. I set the TV up myself which was fairly easy for such a large unit but then had to go out of town for a few days before I was able to really sit down and play with it.
After coming back I used the calibration settings recommended by this review. http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1333359799

I tried your way (the pro settings + your edits) and the picture seems a little washed out to me (duller colors and an overall less bright feeling). Maybe I'm just used to have the picture really bright? I can't tell if the actual quality of got any better just yet, but why keep TruMotion off? In my standard settings I had to ClearPlus and with yours it's off. Not sure if I'm should be seeing a difference.

Sorry if this is a question that has been answered already, but I have no software updates available from the 04.20.18. Does anyone know why there are different versions? Is it regional?

The reason i've had it off is because I experience the soap opera effect while watching movies with it on. I recently changed it to De-Judder 0, and De-Blur 10, which was recommended by someone else on here I believe and that seems to resolve the issue.

Hello everyone - so I found the time to go to Best Buy yesterday.

Not only did they have a set which didn't display any light-bleed but it also had the same amount of play along the top border and in the right and left corners. If you put your finger to them, the panel can be pressed in a little bit.

Well, Dell ended up screwing me over... i was up in the air over the LG LM7600 and the Sony HX750. I ended up going with the 55HX750 on cyber monday and was happy with my decision. That was until the TV got delayed... once, twice, three times? Now dell is trying to tell me that Sony has discontinued production of the HX750 model and they can no longer obtain it for me.

So, i have to cancel my order and decide on another set. At first they told me the only thing they could do for me was offer 10% off another television which is total BS considering what i got the Sony for on Cyber Monday. I paid $1,355 with 3 years of warranty for the Sony, and the rep was already trying to push a more expensive Samsung model on me that (6,000 and 7,000 LED series) he wasn't able to even remotely price match to what i paid on the HX750. He suggested NOT going with the LG and said they are not as good as a Sony or Samsung. I told him i wanted to take a break and do more research online first before making a decision so he is going to call me back in an hour.

I have been going over reviews and various threads all over the net again and i am once again leaning towards the 7600. Although i think the best he will be able to do for me is price match the HX750. MAYBE. And this model just sold for 1,000 to 1,300 all over during the Black Friday frenzy. I would feel like i'm kind of getting shafted if i have to pay more than 1,300 for it. I am not sure what to do in this situation.

I could cancel the order altogether and wait for the new models to come out this next year, but i'm not keen on paying full price for a TV.

I have also read reviews on Amazon claiming the TV has input lag for games... one person said they hooked a laptop up to it and experienced heavy lag, another reviewer complained that they played COD MW3 in 3D and experienced heavy input lag. I wasn't aware of the fact that 3D created lag???

I am a hardcore gamer and that's what a majority of this TV will be used for, so i was pleased to read several people's comments in this thread claiming zero lag. But then i read about lag elsewhere. I'm not sure what to think that this point. Can all the gamers chime in with their experience on 360/PS3? Input lag in general? Online? In 2D vs 3D? Very curious and will help decision on whether to purchase or not.

I have had the 55" for several months. I play XBOX 360 COD online for a bit nearly every night. I play mostly in 2D but have played a few online matches in 3D. I set the AV Mode to "GAME" before playing and have experienced 0 - ZERO perceived lag via the TV/home theater over the entire time of ownership.
Awesome thank you...! Would still like to hear from a few more people before making a decision.

Also, another one that i was wondering about... does anyone here play Rocksmith on the TV?

Any perceivable lag just playing through HDMI? I know that headphones are supposed to give best experience but i play directly from 360 to TV via HDMI on my current Samsung and if there is any lag at all it is tiny.
Are you trying to find a TV with 100% good reviews? smile.gif There have been TV's rated as "Best" by some sites, and the same TV mediocre by other sites. Take away the flashlighting issue and the 7600 has some of the best reviews by users. Also, Dell does not have the 7600 series on it's site, so they won't be recommending it, not to mention Dell seems to have a large share of both Proven (Court action) bait and switch and many customer complaints that may not have had an actual court action. Trusting them for any advice on TV brands is not what I would even consider. They will promote whatever they have the most of and or make the most on.
There are gamers here posting, I would take stock in their reviews. (And you are)
All you can do is what you are doing, read reviews both professional and in forums like this, balance them out and make a choice. I was set on a Samsung till I actually saw it in the store. The LG was an obvious better looking picture even after playing with both of them. (Except for blacks)

Alright, they suckered me into it... they gave me enough discounts that it matched the Sony HX750 except $75 of it had to be in the form of a Dell gift card. At least i will be receiving it before i go on vacation at the end of the month. If i get this TV and it has crazy panel problems i am going to freak out. hahah

Hope it all works out....
