Microcenter had the 55LM8600 for $1299 last week. It wasn't listed on their website. But, several stores like the one in Rockville, MD had quite a few in stock. Great price for a 240 hz, dual core, 3d tv.

Which futureshop? is it a demo/refurb unit or brand new one? FS price is 1799 right now. If you could scan or take a photo of your receipt that would be really helpful.
thanks!

Wow, that's a great price. I paid $1540.00 for my 55lm7600 two months ago at HHGreg. Love the TV.

A great app to get for your smart phone (mine is Android) when shopping at BB or any store that price matches is called "RedLaser". You just scan the barcode and it brings up not only local competitors but also all the online prices for that particular item. I just showed it to the BB associate with all the various prices and picked the lowest when I bought my TV.

I'm sure they just LOVED that. LOL.

I essentially did this when purchasing my 65LM6200. I conceded the tax, but they still refused to price match. I walked and bought it on Amazon. It's interesting to hear my State argue that the reason for taxing Amazon sales is primarily due to making local businesses competitive again.

at futureshop in canada the 47lm7600 and the 47lm9600 are the selling for the same price.
47lm7600-regular 1399.00
47lm9600-on sale 1399.00
i talk with the salesman to ask why that would be, and all he said was because the 9600's have been discontinued because they are to expensive to build?
if you were gonna buy one, not having already bought a TV, which would you choose?

Got my 47LM7600 + free blu ray player + 6 extra 3d glasses for $799 USD.

Except for very big ticket items, it's a very small piece of the puzzle in my opinion. The biggest thing with Amazon is 1. convenience, and 2. price (even with tax), and 3. a great return policy.

Yes I did. Is that a big deal? I sold 10 on amazon for about $15 because no one was biting on craigslist lol.

I can get Samsung UN55ES7500 for $1499 + tax. compare it with 55LM7600, which one has better PQ?

For LG 55LM7600:

Magic remote
passive 3d

What I don't like:
clouding/flashing issue

for Samsung 55ES7500:
what I like:
Samsung brand
frame is nicer

what I don't like:
remote
active 3d

How is Saamsung's clouding and flashing issue compare to LG?

thanks

Use the contrast brightness and color from other modes you like. Just make sure most of the advanced controls and picture options are turned off..

Anyone...?
Is this a difficult question?

I honestly haven't noticed any new functionality with 04.31.30, my tv pulled the update automatically. No new premium apps. I have lost the ability to use Netflix, cannot connect, tried deactivating with no luck. And YouTube now crashes the TV after several minutes of viewing, I have to power off and on again to get things moving. Perhaps the update was pulled for these reasons. I have a service tech coming by to repair. Also, I can no longer choose the audio stream from Plex/media link. This looks like it was deliberately removed.

Can anyone confirm that YouTube and Netflix function okay after 04.31.30?

If anyone is considering this TV for it's Smart features, I would look elsewhere.

You guys don't know how lucky you are. I'm in Buenos Aires, and after reading a big chunk of this thread I've decided to go for the 55LM7600, although my decision is based mainly on price - I can get a 10% discount on the advertised price of 24,999 pesos....that's USD4,900, AFTER the discount.

Is that because of import tariff? I'm doing the math and it seems crazy that you can't get one for $1500, and spend less than $3500 in shipping and end up ahead. Perhaps the return policy wouldn't be all that great though....

No, it's because it's Argentina. The TV is actually assembled in Argentina, otherwise they wouldn't sell it here - imported goods are banned. I gave up trying to ship stuff here 2 years ago, after an entire year of stuff not arriving (like books, clothes etc for my kid). Even if I did try that route there would be a 50% import duty (of the list price, NOT the price I paid), plus the 15% tax on all purchases made outside the country by credit card, plus whatever 'gifts' I'd have to pay the customs officials to release it - I still wouldn't get much change from USD4000 and with the chances of it arriving undamaged, or even arriving at all.....nah, I'm stuck with paying the USD4,900.

I would recommend getting this TV and use the Smart features. I do not at this time have an account with Netflix but it is connecting, it does take a tad longer than some other apps. Perhaps you have other internet or router problems, and not an LG problem?
Vudu, Amazon, and Youtube all working flawlessly. When fist purchased the Youtube app did freeze for some, but I have not had that problem since that early software.
My media link is working fine, (not using Plex) not sure how you came up with some deliberate removal? Are you seeing others saying they can not use Plex/media link because of this update also?
