That's not judder. It's confusing. The current term for that is display motion blur. Note: "Motion Blur" by itself is a broader term
most purists regard that as the blur that comes from camera shutters staying open during motion.

Fix your quote on that message.....you made it look like I said that, which is uber-confusing.

I'll update everyone once all testing is completed.

Ok, so an update on my situation... it's been roughly two weeks since LG tech replaced my mainboard on my 47LM7600 to fix the firmware issue they had (terms kept popping up when turning on tv, smart features stopped working, etc..). The TV seems to be working fine except I noticed something very strange last night. The TV model now shows as GLOBAL-PLAT4_B5, and has a different serial # than I had before. So today I tried the LG remote App on both my iphone and android devices. Neither will control the tv. It tries to scan the network for the tv, a box pops on the tv for pairing code, but the ios and android apps say "unsupported device". I don't even get a pairing code to enter.

I called LG and they told me it was user error. I told them BS.... this worked before. So, they are sending a tech out again. As much as I love this TV, I am growing more annoyed with LG and will be hesitant to ever buy another TV from them again. I have Samsung, Vizio, and Philips TV's elsewhere in the house and never had an issue with any of them.

How do you all feel about the reflectivity of the screen? Checked out a floor model in Fry's a couple days ago and it seemed a little reflective for my taste... Anyone seen it next to a Sony HX850?

Maybe I could get used to the glare...but it's gonna be in a fairly bright room with daylight during the day and lights at night. Thoughts?

Thanks for clarifying the terminology/nomenclature.

So how do I fix it?

So I grabbed an RCA RCR312WR from Walmart and followed instructions to use 5 digit code 11265 to connect to the LM7600 & then press the guide button to access the EZ menu but unfortunately this didn't work. Apparently 11265 is no longer an valid code even though it apparently worked at one time according to a tutorial I found. I really wanted to do this on the cheap but I may need to purchase the cheapest harmony 300. I appreciate all of the help!

RCA RCR312WR, bought from Amazon, and it worked for me.

Do you mind posting your remotes model #? I can run by best buy later and try that one instead if they have it!

According to the model # printed on my remote I have the "exact same" remote but when I enter code 11265 while holding TV it the power button on the remote flashes 4 times like it wasn't a valid code. frown.gif Maybe this remote is a new revision that has that code removed? Would they do that? I may try the IR LED/HEADPHONE JACK rig to see if that works. I wanted to try and get this done today so I could record the SuperBowl so that limits my options as far as ordering anything online. Anyway, I appreciate all of your help/input thus far.smile.gif
post #2773 of 3652
So you can record the Superbowl? There is nothing getting to the service menus will do to get to recording anything unless you are outside the US and using a non US version of the TV.
Sorry I was under the impression that I could turn on the PVR(Time Machine) in the service menu even on North American versions of this TV. I guess I read that wrong!
That feature is not available for us. In fact getting you into the service menu's does not allow for many changes, however there are a couple. Most items are greyed out and can not be changed with a remote by anyone, it takes a computer connected to the TV with the correct program.

this could be where the confusion came from: "can" used instead of "cant"

Gotcha! Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

here is what is used to access my service . http://www.bestbuy.com/site/RCA+-+4-Device+Universal+Remote+-+Black/1088116.p?id=1218219329422&skuId=1088116&st=rca remote control&cp=1&lp=3

Wow the prices on this thing are stubbornly being held high. I think they're trying to hold out right before the slide that happens when the new models trickle in from feb to apr.

I hope something happens, because Light Gray Friday was such a @#$%ing disappointment across the board.

so is there any way of enabling the DVR functionality on the 47LM7600 for US versions? If so can someone please explain how to do so. Thanks!
Thnx, Pwrwrap, did that. (It's better.) The three-point base is also too narrow at the rear and always lets the remote falls over...think I need an old hacky-sack (or small beanbag) to put under it on the coffee table so its not always falling on its side (and rolling onto the floor usually). I got a Hulu+ subscription free for 3-months (as opposed to the free week from my new ROKU (in the bedroom) and this LG TV for Hulu)...but I am still wondering if it's possible to get Amazon Prime on the 2012 47LM7600? Anybody got a clear, concise process/method to get this? Isn't it supposed to be coming form LG on a S/W update?
Actually sometime over the last week I see I got another update to the Amazon App a slightly different look to it. It and Vudu are the apps I use the most by far.

Hi, I just purchased this set a few days ago and so for it's been great. There is one thing that irks me and I am hoping it's just a setting that I can change but have yet to find. I would like the TV to default to the app screen if no HDMI device is powered up. Is there a way I can do this?
Harmony remote. The set itself can not, but it's one simple push of a button after power.... smile.gif

There's are *lot* of things that could so easily be managed if TV's followed a 3rd party addon model, like Firefox and the like.

It's pretty damned reflective. If that's going to bug you and you don't have a way to close window curtains/blinds, re-angle lights or have a spot you can place it in which doesn't get hit by either of those it might not be the best choice for you. I haven't seen the Sony you're referring to. My living room gets a lot of ambient light from 2 very tall windows and 2 doors with windows in them and I have relatively sheer curtains so watching anything dark on it during th day is kind of useless, but at night I use two specifically angled lamps rather than the overhead and that works fine or I can just turn the lamps off. For day time use, I can angle it toward the love seat rather than the sofa and it gets less reflection that way but the love seat is too small to stretch out on obviously. I don't regret buying it at all and would have gotten it even knowing this ahead of time but I don't watch much if anything during the day and if I do I'm usually multitasking so not paying much attention to the visuals anyway. This might not work for your needs, though.
I haven't seen it next to that Sony, but my friend has that Sony and from what I remember, they're both pretty reflective.

My solution to the reflection problem was to mount the TV on a tilt mount and angle it slightly downward. I have a wall of windows to the side of the TV, and spotlights on the wall behind where I sit, and tilting the TV downward minimizes the reflection I see of both of them.
