I know on some devices, changing the firmware revision number in the file name to a higher increment will fool it into flashing. Before I do anything I want to make sure it has been done before with no problems. I'm not rich and I've just spent a lot of money for a TV that I don't want to "experiment" with.

Now here is the problem that 4.31.34 has created:

When I play a video file or a picture using the Smart Share All Media, and it doesn't matter if I select All, Photos, or Video, I get a screen full of yellow static looking lines. Sorta like the "snow" you would get on the tuner if there were no antenna or a empty channel. On a video it lasts only for a second. With a picture it will stay on screen until you do something with the picture like rotate it or change pictures.

Is there a way to do a full factory reset? Like a paperclip hole reset button someplace? Or a key press combo? I'm not worried about having to setup the TV again. I know with a lot of devices I have, like a WDTV Live Hub, if you factory reset the unit after a update it seems to get rid of the some of the problems.

Here is a screen shot! (A picture is worth a thousand words)

4.31.34 Bug

I'm having the same damn problem. the latest update really screwed something up.

It wouldn't be "rolling the dice" on another unit in the box; on the other hand, I would have to inspect closely to ensure no physical damage to the case or screen.

Assuming it comes with full warranty, what difference would it make if it has a thousand hours on it or so?

I think there is a place in the settings where you can read how many hours of use are on the panel. So you could actually know how many hours on on the set before you decide. But consider, 1,000 hours in a home environment might be 9 months to a year's worth of viewing (3 hours a day). 1,000 hours in an electronics store is likely only two or three months. And the 7600 had been out for over a year now, right? I bet that demo at Fry's has 3,000 + hours on it. I wouldn't want that. Also, how are you going to transport it home?

I know lot of people will hammer me regarding this mad.gif(like people did here to a guy who was trying to roller the screen with a paint roller). But again i was able to fix 4 sets with no any issue. Let me know if you wanna try that.

I'd like to know. I've had temporary success in alleviating the flashlighting on my set by using light finger pressure on the bezel. But it would always revert back. Would you mind posting how you cured your set? If you prefer to PM that's fine with me.

Hello everyone, just wanted to check with you guys on these two HDTVs:

47LM7600
55LM7600

These HDTVs got a great score on my website for input lag, rated at 34ms and 35ms respectively under the "Game" picture setting. This is using Leo Bodnar's Lag Tester. I just wanted to check with you guys to see how your experience is with gaming on this HDTV. Thank you!

Hello to everyone!

Let me tell you my problem. I bought the LG LM7600 but I didn't know that was blocked the time machine option. I already checked information about how fix this but I am not sure is it possible with this model. I would like to try with a universal remote control to access to the EZ adjust but I don't know which one works fine with this tv. Would be great if you can suggest me one from radioshack to buy it and then return it if doesn't work. Thanks a lot for being there!

yeah,36" and we look up a little bit..any more would be too much for us. When we mount on the wall we will tilt down a bit 6.gif

What remote has been asked and answered over and over, just do a search on this thread for a full answer. So has the question of that option. You can't do what you are asking, period.

Two teenage sons claim it is practically lag free. I should know because they made me hardwire the PS3 to the router to eliminate the inherent lag in wireless connection.

I knew this TV could do a lot of stuff, but time travel? Wow!

How were you able to "fix" yours? Settings? Or some other adjustment to the physical panel itself?

If you want to someday, know there's nothing wrong with posting an image twice. The way to do it and be guaranteed it won't cost anything in bandwidth is to have the first one loaded in to avsforum, and then use THAT image in subsequent uploads. Have the 2nd one refer to the 1st by link (instead of upload) if you want to make sure AVSforum doesn't accidentally duplicate its own stored image.

BTW, the new LG's have a redesigned remote which works roughly the same way but was purportedly going to have a querty keyboard on the underside. I wonder if that'll work with 2012 TVs......
That remote has been out for two years, comes standard with the Google LG TV. It works with any of the newer LG TV's like the 7600 that allows for qwerty.

Well since I can't find out how to do a full factory reset or if I can rollback the FW safely or if I can flash it again, I'm calling LG service to complain. This in hope that I can add my name to the list of people with problems with V4.31.43.
Maybe they'll fix it and update us again with a working FW.

Smart boys. I do the same for my 360. I know it's pretty picky, but I also only use a wired controller....

Can you post an image of yours with 100% backlight and localdimming off to see which technique is better for yours?

Good way to handle it. Either it's widespread and a fix will be made, or it's only a few and they will replace/fix yours as needed. The more who let LG know the quicker it will be addressed.

I can try to post an image later tonight or perhaps tomorrow. The room needs to be semi-darkened and it's daylight right now. The last time I tried to do so, my camera was unable to adequately show the flashlighting.

I'm not understanding you when you say, "to see which technique is better for yours". Is there more than one technique that you use to adjust the bezel? Or a combination of bezel adjustment and picture settings?

Oh that's right, my mistake. I was getting the press releases screwed up: The new magic remote has voice command.

Well, i found two ways to treat for flashlights and clouding. One way for FL and other for clouding. No picture settings are involved.

I was able to pick a 47LM7600 for about 900+tax once Best buy matched Alltimetv. Will arrive Monday hopefully it's a later manufacturing date. Which seem to have fewer quality control issues than the early models.

I hear reports of this kind of thing, and I'm amazed. I thought "alltimetv" was internet-only. And they're not on the list of internet-only vendors they'll price-match with.

It all comes down to how savy the sales guy is that is working at the moment. I doubt that the folks on the phone would have done this!

You need to gently press the screen in the lower right and left corners of your tv. you will feel a little snap but it will fix the clouding in the corners and greatly improve your picture.

I'm very impressed by the settings listed in the FlatpanelsHD review. My experience over the years has been that transferring settings from someone else's review or calibration doesn't usually work well, however, I tried the settings listed for the LM7600 and the colors look wonderful. I've had a number of ISF calibrations performed on my TVs over the years and am familiar with what a professionally calibrated picture is supposed to look like. I'm especially familiar with the Demonstration scenes on the Digital Video Essentials HD Basics Blu-ray disc. After using the FlatpanelsHD settings the colors look very natural, the way I remember them looking on my calibrated sets. The only changes I made were to bump up the backlight to 50, turn the sharpness down to 20 and turn LED Local Dimming to Low. Of course I'm going from memory and according to my preferences. I don't have equipment to measure the settings. I really like what I see, though!

Just swapped out my week-old 55 LM6700 for the 55 LM7600. So far so good, although I need to tweak the 3D settings based on the free content on the main menu.

Funny story. - when we swapped the 6700, the Best Buy Customer Service agent tried to tell me that the set came with 2 remotes - the magic and a standard remote. I tried to convince him that it did not. I think he felt I was trying to put one past him.

By the way - I hate the magic remote and am thrilled that my Harmony 650 has the codes for the 7600 which include the home button. The 6700 harmony scheme did not have that option.

I bought the 6700 at Best Buy with a price match from Amazon - $1165 - originally $1399. My 7600 was originally $1499 at Best Buy and I price matched again for $1399. Also got the 5 year warranty. Since I am a silver premier card member I qualify for a free calibration after 200 hours.

Thanks to this forum I have tweaked the picture settings per the kind posters here. I do have light leak but I will learn to ignore it.

Thank you again for all the great messages here.

Love my 55" 7600. I had the rebooting issue caused by Plex. I even took my TV back and got a new one because I freaked out.
But later figured it out.

I'm scared to start tweaking and tinkering with the settings because everything is working great with its integration with my home network. It sees everything without issues.

My only gripes come with the remote...

1) As soon as the remote moves the arrow appears on the screen and gets in the way of the picture. Who doesn't accidentally drop, move, or toss the remote around while they're watching tv. Very annoying. I looked but didn't see a way to complete turn off the arrow/pointer. I only saw calibration and speed settings.

2) In order to switch inputs you have to go to a menu, and then select the input. This is the 1st TV I have ever seen, that didnt have an input switch button physically on the remote.

I highly suggest you get a harmony remote - I have the 650. I put the magic remote in a drawer and hopefully won't have any further need. No annoying arrows for me!

Hi,

i have 7600. Some websites stream channel contents online live. when i try to browse them in 7600, it is asking to install silverlight. is it safe to install silverlight? what type of browser is being used in this TV?

Thanks.
