Skype Camera Question

Have just purchased the AN-VC400 Skype camera for this TV and have a couple of questions as to its use.

Has anyone got the audio going through an AV Receiver rather than via the TV speaker? If so, your tips on how to do that would be appreciated. Am using an Onkyo TX-NR509 as my receiver - everything connected with HDMI.

Secondly, is there anyway to move the Skype App to the My Apps front menu rather than having in buried behind a couple of screens? Better yet, a short cut to open it for a Harmony 525 remote would be great - has anyone managed to do that? Trying to make it all as family friendly as possible.

Thanks in advance.

For all with the "Test Screen Snow" problem....

Last night here in NC we had those storms from out West move thru here. Got pretty bad at about 4AM. Anyway, the power went out about 4AM and was back on at 6:15 or so. So I fired up the LM7600. Being curious as I am I decided to make sure none of the settings needed redone. I ran the screen test option. LOW AND BEHOLD and OMG! It worked!! No snow!! I actually saw the football picture and I saw it everytime I repeated the test (about 6 times). So if you want to, try removing the A/C cord for a bit.Let us know what your results were. I'm thinking that some cache must have gotten cleared with the power outtage....waddaya think?

EDIT: Several hours later: The power went out again for about 15 minutes. The hosed up test screen is back. That just blows all my theories out of the water.

I find the picture fantastic on this thing really.

I have discovered what seems to be causing the slowdown I mentioned before while watching hockey games. I said it seemed to happen during face offs frequently. Well I now know it happens right after the Station does a static image of the logo "TSN" or "CBC" during the break in action when it shows the replay and then before going back to game it puts the logo up quickly then goes to face off where I see the slowdown for a few seconds.

Does anyone else notice this and is there a way to stop it from happening. I've seen it with Trumotion on and off.

Thanks for any help as always.
Watching the Blue Jays home opener tonight and the same issue after the logo flashes on screen.

Help.

Ok guys I seem to have finally fixed these issues. The blur on the puck when it's passed really hard, or the lag after static image before face offs. I also noticed the following in baseball where the ball would blur and in golf when the ball was coming into the green it would blur.

All I did to completely fix this was change my Picture mode to the Game setting ( Not renaming the Input to Game or PC). This took away all the issues I was having watching any sports. I'm so happy now. The only thing now is some of the options are grayed out for settings but to be honest the picture looks great to me as is. Does anyone have a really good setup for their Game mode settings?

Cheers.

I hope this helps out anyone that may have been having those same issues with the LG 7600 series.

Hi,

I bought a 55" LM 7600 on Friday, and I have a band along the top of the screen that is lighter than the rest.
For example, and entirely blue background would be slightly ligher blue for about a 0.5cm strip along the top of the TV.

You can see it a bit in the first photo, and it's really bugging me. It's not the source content, as it happens with TV, DLNA, PC, etc.

Other than that, i've got the settings so it's a fantastic picture, and pleased with it in other respects.

There's a fair bit of relection in this, but you can see what i mean

And a couple of ones in the dark so you can see the bleed.

Strangely, all the big "flashlighting" from the corners doesn't bother me at all - but that's because it isn't at all noticeable when you're playing films /games / etc. It's just the strip along the top mad.gif

If it is just the really thin strip of light right under the top bezel then that is normal on these TVs. I have had in on all the LG LED TVs I had tried.

I am having my panel replaced on Thursday because of this issue. Hoping this does it.

I thought you were replacing it because of flash lighting. I think what he was describing is different. It is a thin line at the top of the screen that goes the entire length of the TV. I do not think this is avoidable and can be seen on any screen no matter what color.

I'm on Engineering Mode and Ver.05.00.00 is downloading as I type this.

UPDATE: Its now installed, I don't see any new changes. Still no Amazon VOD in premium apps.

Downloaded and installed new firmware (5.00.00) this morning. Hav't played with it much...but Amozon Video on Demand IS now in the premium apps. I have already registered the device with my Amazon account and that worked...but I won't have a chance to try and watch something until later.

Is this update available to everyone?

I got the update an hour ago and I'm not on the engineering firmware.

First time poster here, though I have been reading since last spring when I purchased my 47" 7600 in April 2012. Reason I'm posting is that around the first of year (2013) I had an incident where, while watching TV thru my DishTV setup, the "white" colors assumed a definite green color to them - it was one of those Charmin(?) commercials with the bears and their faces turned green. The same thing happened a view times after that, where peoples faces particularly, would get a greenish tint (and we're not talking about a subtle tint here, but a very obvious one). At that time I was using the AV connection from my Dish DVR and not an HDMI connection. I discovered that by jiggling the RCA jack at the back of the TV I could get that to go away and go back to normal flesh tones, so I thought that it was all due to either a bad connection on the TV or the actual 3-in-1 RCA dongle had a problem.

Eventually it seemed that no amount of jiggling on the connection would get an overall green tint to go away, and while not as definitive as the few episodes of "make no mistake, that's green," an overall green tint to the flesh tones has remained with the old Dish setup.

Just within the last week, I upgraded my Dish setup to a 722k DVR and it has an HDMI connection, which I am now using and connected to the TV with a 4 foot BJC HDMI cable directly. Problem is I'm still seeing this overall green cast to flesh tones and no matter how I try to adjust the TV, even sliding the R-G adjustment all the way to the red side, can alleviate the problem. In partcular, when watching the CBS Evening News, Scott Pelley's (sp?) skin tones tended in the past to run a bit pinkish, but now the looks like he has a healthy tan but with an off cast. Red items in TV scenes, like the stripes in a US flag, do not seem as vibrant as they should.

Simultaneous with this development of the greenish cast to skin tones has been relatively distinct shaded vertical banding in lighter background areas of the screen, noticable especially on web pages with transitions between pages. It's almost like every other group of LEDs around the perimeter of the TV (perhaps about 4 inches in length or so) is not as bright as the adjacent 4 inch sections. Don't know if this is tied to the greenish flesh tones or not.

I am using self-tweaked out-of-the-box settings on the standard TV setting (which I had been happy with until the last 2-3 months), on ISF-1 I had settings posted here from early on (but those have been replaced with the picture wizard settings), and on ISF-2 I'm using pretty recent C/Net settings. Unfortunately all of them seem to exhibit the same greenish tint. I also think that my Blu-Ray output to the TV seems tinted the same way.

I'm just wondering if
1) Has anyone else has experienced this problem? And what helped correct it.
2) Any suggestion as to what I might try (I've not reset the TV yet - not sure how - but I did run the picture wizard a few days ago and that did not seem to make much of a difference in the tint).
3) If you live in the sticks, how does LG handle sending someone out to service the TV under warranty - and will it really help? Largest metro area would be 100+ miles.

Thanks for any assistance. I'm a fingerbreadth from calling LG and turning the problem over to them.

I am downloading right now. Must be quite a download because the estimated time is more than 20 minutes. Hope it's not disappointing!

Just completed the download and registered the device for Amazon! No disappointment here. smile.gif

Hmmm. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I cannot find the Amazon app now that I've updated. I looked through all of my apps and also through the app store. I've also turned the TV off and on several times. When I check software update, it definitely says I have 5.0.

You should press the home button...then enter the premium apps section...and you should find the app there. Unless you have never initialized premiums...it should be there
