What sort of surge protector do i need any options/suggestions. I was looking and came across 2 Belkin Pivot Plug Surge Protector, 12-Outlet VS MONSTER MP HDP 900G. Any other surge protector or between 2 mentioned which one to go. Thanks in advance

I have the Belkin one you've mentioned. No problems at all. Any surge protector should work fine.

Guys,

Can you give me your opinion on your 55LM7600 lightbleed? I just got one yesterday and mine seems excessive, but I am new to the edge-lit TV realm. I created a post with pictures of what mine looks like.

Please let me know if this is more than yours, as I am ready to go replace it if this is more than what should be leaking from the edges.

Ok, so I believe I have made my decision. I saw the lm7600 on Amazon for ~$1,200 last week. I know some have gotten cheaper, but I was wondering if anyone has seen a deal lately around that $1,200 mark.

If anyone could help me find a deal I would appreciate it.

This is for the 47" Lm7600.

Buy dig supposedly has it for $1229. Search slickdeals-dot-net for 47LM7600.

Sorry, can't link because I'm new to the forums.

Quick question on ordering from Amazon -

My 7600 order just changed to "shipped" this afternoon and has a estimated delivery date of this wednesday 5/2. I would assume the delivery courier calls ahead to schedule a time??

This is very short notice & I work during the day.

Can anyone advise how their TV shipment from Amazon was handled.

Thanks.

UPS brought mine to the door in So Cal in pristine condition from Amazon's Nevada warehouse. NO package damage at all. Box is VERY thin and reasonably light weight. I had no advance call but DID need to sign for it. This was using the Free Delivery Option.

Mine is being shipped via CEVA.

Does anyone know if CEVA will wait for you to unpack the box, turn the TV on, etc. ??

I'm curious what time they plan on coming as no one is usually home during the day.

They will call to set up a delivery time, and they will help you set it up if you would like. You actually have to sign off if you decline any of the services listed on the form when they show up. No additional charge on any of the offered services.

Surfin3591:

It is normal not excessive but you will not see this when you are watching normal tv or movies. This only will occure when you are watching your tv without input. Just put the local dimming set to medium than the problem is mostely gone....

I have read through this entire thread and still can't determine if folks really like this TV. I love the look of the LG and just want some reassurance that this is a top quality set. My other choice would be a Panasonic plasma. Looking to spend around $2,200 for a 55 inch set.

The general rule is LCD-LEDS for rooms with a lot of light. Plasmas for dark rooms such as dedicated home theater rooms.

How is bright defined? My main TV (currently a 32" LG LCD) sits in the living room where there's 3 full length windows behind the couch facing it. However, I leave the blinds closed for the 3 windows directly in front of the TV almost all the time, so less light goes through. How would Plasma vs LCD fit? I like the Panasonic ST50, but my concern is the noise, burn-in, and some complaints about some weird light effects with certain things like Hocker.

Why does this et seems to be out of stock everywhere? Hoping to buy off of Amazon but it is not currently available.

Looking for some advice as to these new LG sets. Need a 55 inch set but not sure which model would be best and if this set would be a better choice over a Samsung LED or Panasonic plasma.

I own a Panasonic Plasma and the LM7600. Even with the small amount of flashlighting in the corners on the LM7600 I choose the LM7600 over the Panasonic any day of the week. As far as LCD sets go, if your looking for the deep blacks and limited viewing angle, I'd recommend Samsung. If the deep ink blacks are not so much a concern and your looking for an increased viewing angle and more realistic color, buy the LG. Take a look at the different LCD tech out there, IPS, PVA, MVA and you will see that each has its own special property and each has some type of compromise. Plasma still has burn in issues, just take a look at the issues with the Panasonic VT30 over at the HDJ forums. I'll probably take a lot of heat for this, but I have yet to see a flat panel tv that could compare to the older 1080 HD tube tv's.

I absolutely am in love my my 55LM7600. It's just pretty and the 3d is really great imo. A lot of people are having issues with theirs apparently but so far it's been great to me. The tv really makes the outdated 360 and ps3 look a lot better, also looks great with a pc as well.

My wife complained for months with me wanting to get a new tv for the living room because of the price (we have a projector for most of our viewing) but she is in love with tv. She's just trying not to admit it

Hy... question:
optical output of the LM7600 is 5.1?

I am passing both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS core but only from local file playback from a USB source. Audio originating from any of the HDMI inputs is only output in stereo so far. The hardware is there apparently but for some reason LG is limiting us to only 2 channel pass thru if we connect our DVR or BD Players via HDMI and try to extract Surround from the optical jack. Phooey!

I have to say that LG really dropped the ball by not including the standard remote control. I picked up a standard remote recently and have found it a great deal easier to use. The only time I opt to use the magic wand remote is for navigating aps.

Then I am lucky here in the Netherlands we get both the standard and the magic remote...

New to the forum/led tv, and wanted to get some experienced insight as to what should be considered "acceptable" lightbleed/flashlighting.

I love the Tv and pretty much dont have any other issue. Picture quality too seems to be great. I only see the lightbleed as shown in image when no input black screen or when starting some app and so on. As far as i believe i dont see any bleeding during when some video is playing.Dont have cable so for now source is blueray, local hardisk,Vudu and netflix. Have even attached some pics with video playing have look into that and please let me know if i am missing something.

Attached some pictures below with truemotion on and off(Local dimming high). Please give me your input on whether or not my TV is beyond the acceptable lightbleed, especially if you have one of these models and can compare.

I am so confused becoz the normal video is all fine and scared if return and got new piece and would then have bleeding on video playing screens too ):

Thanks.

The "no signal" shots look "normal" to me as Local Dimming is "off"

A better test would be to show some shots (The Dark Knight) for example with the black letterbox top and bottom borders - local dimming , off, low, med, high and see if you get any clouding bleeding in the black borders

Thanks for the reply. For the first 4 pics the local dimming setting is high while the last one has trumotion clear plus and local dimming off. I will still check for other two setting that is low and medium local dimming.

Also does picture should change when you change the truemotion setting from off to smooth to clear to User. Mine only change a bit darker when i do cler plus while for all other settings it remain same. I have LG rep scheduled today for truemotion stuff. Is their anything specific i should ask or draw his attention too including little bleeding which comes in no signal screen???

Someone may correct me but im 99% sure local dimming dosent work on the "no input" screen, its disabled despite what settings you have.

As for truemotion, I think clear plus is the only one that effects the picture brightness due to the scanning backlight I think, it makes the picture not quite as bright.

FYI, for $30 you can get an amplified indoor loop antenna. If your terrain is flat, an RCA ANT1250 can pick up local stations within 24 miles, including HD broadcasts. Go to www.antennaweb.org to check out where your local broadcasters are. Use your TV's internal tuner and autoprogram/scan for "air" channels. We get all 7 local stations in HD.

Wow that's interesting. Was planning to go for basic cable for local channels think you just saved me $$. My apts are little on hill top would it affect in any way when u say flat terrain?? Also tried putting my zipcode on link u provided i am confused about "Select your preferred antenna type by choosing the color code that matches the stations you want to view. "

The list show just 2 or 3 channels which are under 24 miles while other's are all 33 miles and onward (: . Little novice would appreciate if you can guide..thanks in advance
