8" deep is not too bad. Thanks for the update.

Can you guys update us on where you got to with the surround project using the SEOS 12?

I'm very interested in this - and particularly so if I can sink the enclosure into the wall to reduce the protrusion of the box into the room.

GRBoomer and I are perhaps thinking along the same lines in regards to this.

In addition to using the SEOS 12 for surround duty, I imagine that it's also OK to be used for heights.....but perhaps angled down a little to reduce ceiling reflections.

Something like Bwaslo's recent design in the SEOS thread might work well since it is a 10" woofer and a 1200hz crossover. That should space the nulls very wide which is more important in a surround than in a LCR speaker.

I take your point as regards surrounds......I'll be using JBL 2123H's which are 10" drivers. They could match up well to the SEOS 12 with a Denovo 350.

What about height speakers? I want to use JBL 2206H's (12") because they closely match my 2226H LF main drivers......although I'm not sure how concerned I ought to be about this whole timbre matching thing...

JBL 2123's are a mid and I wouldn't run them very low. I've had lots and lots over the years - I used then in my PA and at home. Nice driver, I only sold them after I got my TD10M. My surrounds will use these and a 15" below (3 way).

I'd use the 2206 for the surrounds myself, especially if a 2 way. Not interested in heights myself, so unsure what to suggest, but if I were going to compromise somewhere, the heights would be it over the surrounds, ie surrounds more important.
