im looking to get a xpa amp for my fronts and center (xpa3). the prices on their website seems pretty high. what can i look to spend for xpa 2 or 3 or 5. i dont have a receiver yet lookiing at yamaha 810, 1010, 2010 or last years 3000 or 2000. is it a big difference using external amps?

my speakers are klipsch rf 62ii, rc 62ii, rs 52ii,

if my receiver can push 110 to 125 should i get an external amp?

I would not need to buy external amp to drive those Klipschs. I would use that money saved for a bad a** sub instead.

i got klipsch rw 12d sub but want to add sw 112. what do you think about mixing the two subs?

generally mixing subwoofers isn't a great idea, but depending on your room, YMMV

and to be honest i think your money would be better spent elsewhere before you start adding amps to the system.

see how it sounds without external amps first. i'm not sure how sensitive your speakers are, but i know that with some speakers you can get fairly loud without using more than 1 watt of power!

If you ask me, i would sell the rw12d and use the money that you were going to spend on an Amp to invest in a better sub. It is much easier dealing with one excelent sub than two so so subs.

I have this setup with the original not the ii and no amp and it sounds very nice with my Pioneer 1018. The sound is very warm and powerful when you turn it up. The klipsch are very efficient and a lot of power is not needed to make them sound great.

I thought about an XPA3 but i got a Rotel 3 channel and didnt find much sound or volume difference so i sold it after a year. Good news for you is that Emotiva has a 30 day in home trial.

From personal experience. This will give you the biggest improvement. This is not even a close competition....Subwoofer over amp by a mile. May be even 2 miles. Sell that subwoofer and get yourself a "really" good subwoofer.
