In case you guys are interested there is a kickstarter project to get a sequal to an old Interplay game Wasteland. This is a new way to get games made that fans wish for, but that big publishers don't want to make.

This comes on the heels of a wildly successful kickstarter campain for Tim Schafer's (Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango) studio to make a new point and click adventure game. That one raised over 3 million $$
