I hear the crickets

Geez, this place has become a ghost town. What's up? Or more likely, is nothing up -- i.e. no deals to be had?

All the 2012 models are hitting the stores now, so the best of the deals are pretty much done. It'll be a few months before the new models go on sale and with these in the store, they can sell any remaining of last year's without any big sales still by just keeping them cheaper than the new stuff. We'll probably still see a couple sales but there won't be as many for awhile.

I'll post a deal after I get it. I don't want to blab my mouth and then have it sold out before I can talk my wife into buying. LuLz

I was going to go for a deal on a 2011 sammy but I think the prices of the 2012 are actually really fair. It looks to me like the 2012 e6500 tv is the equivelent of a 2011 d7000, and with the exception of the qwerty remote even the d8000. Plus they come with 2 pairs of glasses.

BTW, great site to look for prices is bountii dot com.

Tough time. Stores are transitioning for new stock but the 2011 stuff has already been cleared out for the most part.

I had been watching for "deals" starting around super bowl. Was looking at Samsung PN51D550's, which had been at $899 forever at a couple diff't stores. Went to finally pull the trigger at BB last week, and they are completely gone...

It is a strange year. Last number of years there has been old year inventory dragging into the Summer with firesale prices near the end. This year everyone seems to have their act together. Still, there is some inventory left, just not great deals. The deal for the VT30 is still pretty good, but I just can't sell myself on that set.

Me too. However, they are showing the 2012 replacement PN51E550 as a "ship to store" item (no shipping) for only $100 more. The changes look to be worth it, perhaps. Amazon has it too.

At the high end, the deals on the new Samsungs don't come close to touching the 2011 models at their peek of deals. The 64" D8000 could be had for $1,800 around the new year but the E8000 is over $3,000 now.

The pre-orders for the Panasonic top moel seems more proportionate, at around $2,700 versus the best deals of around $2,400 for the 2011 model.
