A Marantz receiver, LG Plasma, Shaw Gateway, Wii, Klipsch SW110 sub, & a Boston Acoustics HSI In-Wall/Ceiling 5.1 system.

, and my main floor/entertainment room with 6 In-Ceiling Boston Acoustics HSI 8" series, a Klipsch SW112 sub, run by HAI's HiFi II System. The pics only show 4, the other two are between the dining room & tech center.

Wow nice, very nice HTs, your house looks like a model house. How do you like your Marantz's receivers ? I never owned a Marantz receiver but used to have a AV8003.

Wow like room in the basement nice and clean and simple. Like those Klipsch they look flashy. Do you like the bi-radial horns on them for clear focusing of directional sounds?

I demoed a lot of different brands before going with Klipsch.

Paradigm, Focal, B&W, Polk, Boston the list goes on.

The Klipsch absolutely floored me with their effortless sound/clarity. For movies I will boldly say there isn't another brand on the market that can compare.

For music they are awesome, doesn't matter how much you turn that dial up they continue to produce flawless sound. I'm still in the build process for my 7.2 system, next is a London 12 kit by Primacoustics.

Well everything has limit don’t get too overconfident and blow them up. Do you use an SPL db metre? And remember the safety of your hearing you don’t want tinnitus it can result in many unpleasant days and nights and I suffer from it on and off most days that seem endless until it clears away.

You only need to pass a certain level on your hearing threshold level and wham bingo you’ll be member of American Tinnitus Association. I’ve got a little bit tonight and I’ve mostly been playing a film for short while today at under 80dbc.

Horns give a nice smoothness over the front but they tend to be a bit hissy when you notice it that is when nothing is playing. The range on my Control 12SR are somewhere around 109db and there is no way I’d have them anywhere over 90dbA it would bust the ears up.

I have a cheap Db meter that has displayed 98db when I turn it up to -5 haha

My RF's are only efficient to 102db's

Your going to do your ears in its okay on lows but play 60Hz size wave its not nice listening to after 5mins. It reminds me traveling on the buses and the engine humming purring rumbling vibrating away does my ears in for 15min trip.

Well at least you have good efficient Klipsch they only need a small about power if your room is free from traffic sounds and neighbors you should be able to hear softer sounds at natural levels and louder ones at pleasant levels.

Last time I played a film silly loud was few years ago at near 126dbc never again I prefer 85dba to 105dbc or a few +db higher in dbc range but not constant.

Some films have nice mix on dialogue mix like The Bourne Ultimatum, I can feel the voices on most parts. Well like too also but it can only go so far, it can’t do the real thing like explosions. A close fabricated approximation and that is about, but it gives the film a good creditable effect that gets a lot of people talking about.

What I else I like in movies is good use of Foley footsteps seem real like in STAR TREK II when, Kirk walks down a corridor and down a few steps has nice oomph on the footsteps. Door opens with Spock on opposite side. When Kirk leaves cool use of sound effects with Shhhh, shhhh to front left.

From looking at, at the back its in sections otherwise you'd have to remove the door and most of brick work to get it in. ITS BIG!

Only thing I like about the kitchen and it is nicely designed for cleanness, its the fridge! Its got one of those ice things, my fridge has, sod all! I seen one of those around a friends and it was cool at making ice especially after jogging down the road.

Hey I like your website. The photos are very well done. I didn't know Calgary had that large a downtown. It's impressive.
