Detailed review of my project to this point, mainly cabs from eD, on my build thread linked in my sig.

Anyone feel free to comment.

Upgraded to 2 EP4000s. For $100 retail, it was a no brainer!

Don't know why anyone would get an EP2000 when a EP4000 is just $50 more.

I also looked at the iNuke DSP3000. Does anyone know if the PEQ goes down to 10hz? I'll be bridging both amps, and their power rating are similar for the DSP3000 (2200W RMS) and the EP4000 (2400W RMS).

I have a pair of eQ.2s and Audyssey that have done me well, but if they are powered similarly then between the two, why not get the iNuke?

Jealous sir....

Wow, 4 LMS-Us...very nice. How much RMS power are the LG Clone amps pushing for each sub?

Also, how long after you place the order for the Clone amp before you get them?

Thanks man! I really wasnt on planning on getting another pair of cabinets so soon. But Alex had a customer cancel an order (which had my same cabinets) and he made me an offer that I just couldnt pass up.

The clones put out 4400watts per channel (4ohms). The last one I ordered came in fast as hell! I paid for it on a Wednesday evening and the amp arrived that very next Monday.

Well...after a few weeks of going back and forth with eD and various forum members, I've decided to go a different route. I was originally building a pair of sealed versions of the A7-450, but am now building a pair of...

Mach5 FTW 21in drivers in an eD 7 cubic foot sealed box powered by an ep4000

The Mach5 is a 21in driver with a 34mm xmax! These 21in drivers should completely ROCK, especially in my room. When Alex and others ran the sim on these things, the result had the LMS Ultras sweating for sure.

More to come...

Thanks, interesting something that's cheaper in Canada than the States. I'm so used to having to order stuff from the US.

dominguez1 you have raise the bar to what is a BassHead...

If I follow this correctly, you have a killer system now, developed upgradeitis and ordered another killer system only to cancel that upgrade to order another even more upgraded system before you even took delivery of the original upgrade...

I have been around here for a little while and I have never read a post about developing upgradeitis even before delivery of the subs!

You are now KING of the BassHeads with the record for shortest time between upgrades...

LOL!

It was a very rare strain of upgradeitus that I caught for sure...drastic times call for drastic measures my friend!

In all seriousness, the timing was perfect with the release of this driver. A pair of LMS-Us with clone amp was too far out of my budget. The performance of the FTW21 driver with a 34mm xmax at this price point was too hard to turn down, and it just so happened to be at the limit of my budget. So... I went For the Win (FTW)! Sorry, had to do it...

SWEET bro!! Got the drivers ready to go?

I don't have them....but eD does.

I had them shipped there. They're installing the drivers in the cabs and shipping them over via pallets with a couple ep4000s as well. 24x21x35, 1" EFS all around...guessing the scale should tip over 200+ pounds.

Should be a very fun Memorial Day weekend!

That will put me at 2 FTW-21s, 2 A7S-450s, and 2 Outlaw EX's. I plan on keeping only 4 subs, so hopefully by the end of that weekend I'll know what they are. My 2000 cuft room will be rockin' that's for sure!

Sick MK!!!

So how many 13in drivers in total? 12 in 6 enclosers?

Who built your cabs? eD? Are they just diy passive a7s-650s (PS-650s)?

How much power are you going to put against them?

6 subs, 12 drivers. eD cut the wood I put them together. This will run as a single sub into my FP14K. 2 in the center and 2 in each front corner and they will be stacked on their sides with speakers on top of them.

Sorry i missed this, but, what drivers are you using? Mk, do you really want to find bass nirvana or do you really just enjoy the pursuit?!

Here are my cabs assembled and waiting for the Mach 5 FTW 21's to be installed tomorrow! Can't wait to see what these things can do. Also looking forward to no HPF, and 2nd order rolloff. I'm planning to EQ so that I'm flat to 5hz...we'll see if I can do it and still listen at reference without audible distortion...

2 day guaranteed freight, and at my house on Friday!

I like trying different things and see what I can achieve. We all know getting LMS5400's or REXXX's would get us there but that is not as fun. I like to see how low other drivers go and how they handle movies and such. When something with lots of hype comes out I give it a try and see for myself. Lots of good subs and they all have strengths and weaknesses. Sealed is much easier to get flat and low in my room without much help. These eD 13's are very robust and built well, very heavy for a little guy. They are smaller than the 18 but more gets you there and they were built to be more linear down low than the 18. Trust me, the 8 eD 18's I had were awesome and played reference with ease. If these are even a little better(which I have a feeling are) it will be great too! I know these DIY cabs and drivers(200 pounds each) are built really well and better than anything I owned(DTS-10's were awesome for build quality as well).

They're here...pallet delivered safely in garage...

Pallet of goodies

Surprise inside...you can't tell by this picture, but these things are monstrous...

I could have swore I ordered the large...

Here's a comparison between the Outlaw LFM1-EX, A7S-450, FTW21 w/7cf eD cabinet and mini-fridge

Size comparison: Outlaw LFM1-EX vs eD A7S-450 vs FTW21 in 7cf eD cabinet

Another side angle pic...the size of the Mach 5 FTW21 is unbelievable. When I unboxed this and first got a look at the driver, I literally laughed for 5 minutes. I kept saying: WTF, WTF, WTF. Insanity is the best description. Check out the surround on this beast. The depth of the cone is like 4 inches. The pics don't do it justice...

FTW21in Driver = HUGE

Here's a good pic of them with the rest of the HT...this puts things in good perspective. Those are 2 10in drivers in each Klipsch main speakers. The TV is 72 inches wide...

Mach 5 FTW21's

More to come...off to enjoy them more!!!
