Worth pairing my new Hsu VTF-2 MK4 with my old Infinity sub?

Hi, First post.

I bought the Infinity TSS-1200 HTIB system a while back because I wanted to get some surround sound going on in my house, and have since caught the bug and upgraded everything.

The latest thing I've upgraded is to get a HSU VTF-2 MK4, which is awesome, but since the original sub is still sitting in its spot, I was wondering if it would be worth hooking them both up, or if the Infinity would just make the whole thing sound worse.

Hsu VTF-3 MK4:
Amp Power (RMS) 1000 W short term, 250 W continuous
Hybrid Tuning 18 Hz Ported, 25 Hz Ported or Sealed
Q Control Range 0.3 - 0.7
Woofer Size 12 Inch
Crossover Bypassable 24 dB/Oct, continuously variable 30 - 90 Hz low pass filter

Infinity sub:
Frequency Range 29Hz - 150Hz (+/-3dB)
Amplifier Power Output 250 watts RMS, 500 watts peak
Low-Frequency Driver 12" MMD
Crossover Frequency 50Hz - 150Hz, 24dB/octave
continuously variable

Thanks for your help! And glad to finally become a member!

I think your inclination is right. But it's not that much to buy a splitter and sub cable from Monoprice. If you do decide to try it, move the Infinity sub much nearer to the listening position. Otherwise, if the same distance away as the HSU, once level matched, the Infinity is going to reach its limits much faster than the HSU.
