To make matters short:
Two Sony support guys visited me today. They looked at the faults (banding and white spot), told me that they can't guarentee that the next panel won't have the same issues and then started dismantling my TV. One guy was nearly done with pulling all the screws when the other one unpacked the new panel. Out of a perfectly fine carton. But it was visibly bent anyway.
So... they had no other choice than to reassemble my new TV, order a new panel and come back once it has arrived and they have time (according to them they are the only ones responsible for the entire state... with its 6 million inhabitants...). So I think I'll have to bear with my faulty TV for another month or so.
But it clearly wasn't the support guys' fault! The carton looked as if it had come out of the factory five minutes ago. Yet the panel inside was distorted...Edited by clancy688 - 10/1/12 at 8:21am
