Has anyone ever bought a SquareTrade or Sony etended warranty? I can get a 4 year SquareTrade for 129.00 or a Sony 5 year for 199.99. My last Sammy was slowly dying after 4 years and finally died a few months back. An extended warranty is something thats been in my head since this last purchase.

I will have to rethink my game plan. I was all set to buy the 55hx-750, but after seeing the 850, I think I'll step down in size and go with the 46hx-850. The price on the 55" hx-850 is a bit too steep for my blood, but could do the 46" price. I'm going to wait till mid January to see if the prices fall a bit more and then decide if I want to pony up for the cost of a 55" 850.
My background: I'm a graphics professional and stare at calibrated high end LaCie monitors all day. I'm very sensitive to image quality and accuracy. YMMV:)[/quote

Thanks jsdad , very good post. It's interesting though that the black levels are such a big thing when it comes to tvs these days , I honestly really don't mind if the blacks are a little bit grayer than they are supposed to be , I care more about the contrast and the sharpness , the clarity of the image , but may be those issues are connected , I don't know. It's obvious that the 850 PQ is better but if its only the black levels , I think I'll just stick with a cheaper 750 .
