How Do You Guys Clean Your Lens?

I was wondering what all you guys use to clean the lens on your projectors.

In case you don't know I have am AE100, if that matters.

I use lens paper and non-reflective lens cleaner- the same stuff I use on my 35mm and digital camera. Check your local photography shop.

Is it important to let the lens cool down? I think I've seen some lens cleaner solution mention not to use on hot lens.

I tend to clean the lens before I power it on, not when I am ready to power it off.

I never cleaned it up in the past 6 months !!!

I should think about it... it may not harm ;)

It takes a lot of dirt to really cut down on the picture. I use preventative medicine and keep my lens cap on when not in use and use canned air to blast dust off each time I use projector.

Thanks for the replies.

So how often do you guys clean your lens?

I've had mine for about a month and a half and haven't cleaned it yet.

I only notice dust on it when its running and you can see the dust floating around near the lens.

if you use a lens cleaning solution allways apply it to the cleaning cloth or wipe. Never apply cleaning solution, spray, foam directly to the lens as it will run to the edge of the glass and accumulate there over time.

Eyeglass cleaning solution and a wipes meant for use on eyeglasses seem to work well. They are specifically designed not to scratch the glass.
