Friend told me that it is cuz plasmas get hot and can make sounds when cooling down.
well, plasma do get hot and you should expect some strange sounds at first but after 2-3 uses it should be gone. It can be a result of your reciever - easy way to check - turn on tv - then turn off reciever, use tv speakers, then let it play for about 30 min, then shut it off listen for sound. I am thinking it may be a signaling switch going to the hdmi input . what port is your reciever in ? Make sure it is in port 2 (should say arc on it or near it) different ports are for different devices (even though they will work otherwise) . Usually port 1 is a dvi port , port 2 is an arc (audio return channel) port port 3 is usually for ps3 or laptop. If you still hear the clicling it would not have anything to do with surge protector. Also if you are using hdmi do not use an optical cord - this was a problem for another user. let me know your results.
as for the black level, I believe that with in close parameters 0.003 - 0.006 it is indistinguisable to the naked eye, but eeveryone has there opinion. I also do not subscribe to the black level is the most inportant feature in pq- I kind of think like a great engine is awesome but without a great transmission the engine will never reach its full potential, as in a tv with great black level is not all that matters cause you need great color accuracy or you may as well watch black and white. I would take a tv with 0.006fl and reference color any day of the week over a 0.001fl black level and colors that were over/under satureated. I believe that the Samsung e8000 is an excellent tv, and it is about $700 less than the comparable vt50 (64-65 inch size) but again , just my opinion.
