I just spoke to Samsung and instead of giving me a 2012 set, they are refunding my money. I had a unrepairable 64D8000. I think I'd rather they had swaped (1 or 2 ps?) but now I'm a free agent looking at other teams.

Suppose to get my replacement 64 E 7000 sometime early next week. if there is no pics by then i will put some up.

So the ARC function (audio return channel) is a no go on the E 7000 since the D model??? My C model has it. And it worked great using 12ft cords.

Can anyone confirm that the E7000 has the same claw stand as the D8000 did last year and the E8000 has? I tried searching images but I couldn't find a clearly labeled image of the e7000 w/ stand.

also do we have any idea when the 64E7000 is supposed to drop and for how much $$. I read through the thread and didnt see it, but I didnt know if any of you fellas heard anything.

Are you getting your replacement directly through Samsung or a vendor?Im waiting to get mine replaced with the 64E8000 but they told me they dont have any available in their warehouses yet for exhange,that the vendors need to be supplied with them first,does that make sense?
BTW,looks like they already have an firmware update for the 2012 voice control tvs

Plasma TV: Why Am I Unable To Turn On My Smart Interactive TV Using The Voice Control?

Samsung is releasing new firmware update for 2012 TVs that have the Voice Control feature. This update is designed to improve the overall performance of the Voice Control feature and make the commands easier to deliver and for the TV to understand. The firmware update will change the power-on command from the existing "Hi TV" to "Hi TV, Power On". (The same change would apply if you have the command set to "Smart TV" in the menu as well). This will avoid any confusion both with the commands themselves as well as the way the TV is interpreting the commands. If you are experiencing any kind of trouble using the Voice Control to power on your TV, please update the firmware via the Support menu of your TV, or by downloading it from Samsung.com. When the firmware becomes available, it will be posted in the Download Center of your particular model TV. Can anyone speak to the pq difference between the e650o0 and e7000? Does the dual core processor only help out with web browsing, or will it effect apps such as netflix?

Also, I am a huge hockey fan. Am I going to be upset buying either of these models?

This fascination with taking pics or videos of tv's I still find weird. Like you can check pq this way?

A stock pic lol, well of course i seen that however have you not ever seen something that is released that looked totally different than some generic year old stock pic ???

Plus that is more like and animated pic that does not represent a real life pic


Also the bezel this year was supposed to be more of a black this year as opposed to the grey of last year and the stock pic, and that damm Chrome spider stand or whatever samsung are calling it that they refuse too put in the garbage was supposed to be painted black as well and the stock photos not showing that either my friend, so i am curious for high quality owners pics

Not to derail the conversation, but there's a very slim chance than any photo taken of a TV (in any lighting conditions) will allow you to properly gauge the quality of the display. Why do you think the stock photos released by the manufacturers have a random image photoshopped onto the screen? If they didn't, they'd never sell a single TV. The majority of cameras on the market (unless you're shooting in a RAW format) are manipulating the white balance and exposure of the image before it's even downloaded onto the computer.

Perhaps i need to explain my reasons for wanting too see a pic, Of course i know you can not tell picture quality from a pic on a forum, What i am wanting too see is if the production television bezel is jet black like shown from ces as opposed to the grey from last year and also if they changed that chrome X stand to black as well... The pics i am asking for can be submitted with the television Off for all i care

2011 bezels on the D8000 were light titanium, the D7000 dark titanium. I don't know about what was shown at CES. It's "to", not "too" (sorry, painful). It appears the stupid x stand won out (sad).

Going to get my pn64e8000 tomorrow from bb..saw it in the the magnolia back room with all the receivers and speakers and it looked STUNNING! Colors were well saturated and the picture just popped! I have been looking to replace a pn63c8000 from two years ago, right now I have a Sony 65XBR929 and I hate the picture on it..everything looks washed out and dull. Motion resolution is horrible with no happy medium between full on soap opera effect and 24/P. Needless to say it is going back to Amazon tomorrow! I will try to comment on the PQ as well as buzzing as my c8000 buzzed.

Any owners want to share what they are using for picture settings right now? I would really like a starting point..thanks!

I've read that the dual core processer will speed up browsing, streaming (Netflix) and contribute to better PQ. I believe I read that on Samsungs website or literature on the new sets.

I was wondering if the smart remote can be set to control volume on your receiver and channel changing (and hopefully other functions) on your STB (Fios in this case). I got a "will be able to" answer from the BB magnolia person I chatted with, but was wondering if this is possible now?

Are you saying you don't believe Samsung can use dual core to benefit picture quality? I have no dout that I read that in Samsung's literature. It was not explained but there it was. I'd like to know more about it myself. I'm looking for a link to that statement which I read on more than one ocassion.

In terms of better streaming therefore less hick-ups with netflix, hulu, etc. Yes. In terms of better overall picture quality, highly unlikely. IMO of course

I thought the e8000 had the chrome stand.
