Box Suggestions for a Solo x 18'

I have an older kicker solo x 18" 04 model, It has been taking space up in my garage for far to long and I want to build a box for it, Last time I used it it was in a 10 cube 300sq inch of port burp monster box for spl in a old blazer, This time however I would like to see what it can do musically in my house/ garage would even like to maybe give it some use in my ht possibly one day.
My standards and sq needs are no where near the level of most of you guys around here, but I would like to see what this thing can do with your guys help if you don't mind,

So basically what type of enclosure would you guys recommend? I'm used to car audio sealed/ported you know the usual's. I would like to try some sort of horn, trans line, or whatever else you guys recommend, I'm going to be powering it with a older qsc mx1500 amp.

So any idea's? pointers?

Thanks in advance

If you're really serious about trying some unique enclosure designs, you're going to need accurate TS parameters. If you cant find them online, you'll need something like WT3. Otherwise, you'd be pretty safe throwing it in a 6-8ft3 sealed box without even knowing the parameters.

Probably a good surprise. Most car audio subs have a higher Fs which makes them louder in a car, but not as good for low-end theater extension.

As for a horn design for this driver, that is more of a Lilmike thing. I would likely put it in a largish ported cabinet tuned in the 17-19hz range.

Go horn! I have an 08S15L74 in a 222L tapped tapered quarter wave tube (T-TQWT = negative flare tapped horn). I designed the box to handle 2,000watts @ 16mm xmax. The sub is cracking walls with 200 watts from a 2nd avr.

I will be taking delivery of a SoloX this week. I plan to put it in one of my already built 10 cube ported cabinets. I'll let you know how it goes, I'll make up a thread as usual.

I simmed the B&C vs the 04S18X2 in my cabinet:

Attachment 241023

Looking nice...

In case you haven't seen it, this is the 21" B&C, the Kicker will go in the other cabinet. I'm anxious to see how the square driver looks in the square cabinet:

Sure! I'll try to run the specs in hornresp this evening.

I like how you surrounded the speaker with port WS!

Thanks

I'm very anxious to see what the SoloX can do. The model I am getting can accept the '07 SPAIR. The square driver with square porting system might turn out to be the ticket.

I should be getting it tomorrow, maybe Friday.

I plan to do some measuring Friday as well, weather permitting.

10ft3 (283L) TH = 31.5" H x 33.75" D x 21.5" W. The horn flares from a 3" x 19" throat to a 12" x 19" mouth for 10 feet (304.8cm). It will handle 10,000 watts (200 volts) @ 4 ohms @ 24.48mm Xmax with a 30hz subsonic filter.

Outside on the ground.

Inside in a room corner or inside a vehicle.

ok one last question before I start prepping to build this, I'm going to be usuing a older sony ht receiver into my qsc mx1500 amp, what type of preamp/ crossover do some of you guys use? Budget would be great, I'm going to need something to cut this out @30hz, thanks for all the help as well
